Everyone deserves the chance to nurture a child.
Bringing new life into the world is a fundamental desire that touches almost every human being. Sadly, for many New Zealanders, the joy of raising a family may never be realized.
• One in six couples experience infertility
• One in four pregnancies ends in miscarriage
• One in five first-time mothers is at risk of serious pregnancy complications
• Nearly 600 babies are stillborn or die within 28 days of birth in New Zealand every year
For those struggling to have a baby, the sense of emptiness, loss and despair can be overwhelming. At Nurture, we understand the private grief of being childless, and know that research can make a difference.
The Nurture Foundation for Reproductive Research is a new charity raising funds for research that will help New Zealanders have families. Through fundraising activities Nurture supports research into infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth and the life-threatening complications of pregnancy.
Through research, our aim is to find new ways to predict and prevent these reproductive problems, and improve treatments for couples who are struggling to conceive or carry a child safely to term.
With your help, we can give more New Zealanders the chance to nurture a child of their own.
