Awards
The votes have been cast and the results are out in
OHbaby! magazine's inaugural OHbaby! awards, honouring the very
best in products and services for young families.
OHbaby! publisher Angela Pedersen says "With such a vast
array of products available, it can be overwhelming for new parents
to know what to buy when they're preparing for the arrival of a
baby. Our intention with the OHbaby! awards is to create a
list of proven products and services as recommended by other New
Zealand mums and dads, giving new parents confidence that they're
buying well"
Over 5,000 voters cast over 177,00 votes for their
favourite products - from botty-balm, to baby-carriers and even the
best family car. Angela says "such a big voting turnout
gives real credibility to these awards. Our winners should
rightly be very proud of their win and shout it from the
rooftops."
There were 52 Gold Winners and 52 Silver Winners from each
of the eight categories - Out & About, Play, Feed, Sleep,
Babycare, Home, Shop and Maternity. Over the
coming weeks expect to see the OHbaby! winners logo appear on their
packaging and advertising material as the winners promote their
award.
"What the results show us is that New Zealand parents are
discerning consumers. These aren't necessarily the cheapest
products on the market, but they represent quality and good value
for money."
OHbaby! also asked parents what would be the one product
they would recommend. Merino Kids Go-Go Bag topped the poll,
followed by the Angelcare baby monitor, the Ergo carrier and
Huggies nappies.
The OHbaby! Awards also mark ten years of OHbaby!
providing a valuable resource to young families from conception
through to school years. The OHbaby! website is about to
relaunch with a stylish new makeover. The upcoming autumn issue of
OHbaby! magazine (in stores April 11) will mark the magazine's
third birthday.
Angela Pedersen says the OHbaby! awards will run annually
for years to come, to continue to give an endorsement of products
to new parents, as well as honour the many innovative and savvy
business people working hard in this tightly contested market.
