Baby Name Trends for 2012
If you're expecting a little bundle of joy in 2012, you find
plenty of baby name inspiration in the OHbaby! picks for top baby
name trends for the year.
Celebrities are always good fodder for baby names and this year
we like Hattie, Tori Spelling's baby and Ivanka Trump's choice of
Arabella.
Beyonce and Jay-Z apparently found inspiration from their
favourite number '4' (IV) for their pop-star princess Blue Ivy
Carter. We're not so keen on the colour-coding, but Ivy is
cute.
At the start of last year we had picked the Royal Wedding to be
a source of inspiration with Wiliam, Kate, Harry and Elizabeth all
likely contendors for the popularity stakes. We were right, except
for one big but, or rather "butt" - enter Pippa and that
dress. We imagine Pippa will get something of a revival this
year.
Speaking of revival, a look back through the family tree can
reveal some great names (and some shockers - my
mother-in-law suggested naming our baby after her great-uncle
Mungo! Thankfully she was joking!)
So for 2012 we've found our inspiration in everything from TV period dramas, to the London Olympics and the Wild West. We've made our picks .. now
you just have to make yours!
Oh, and if you are hoping your child will stand out from the
crowd, check out the Top Baby Names of 2011, unless of
course you want your your little poppet to be one of six Rubys or
Liams in their new entrant class. :)
