Things I did to increase my milk supply

Increasing my milk supply was very difficult, because I really didn't know where to start. I have read a lot of websites, and the one that helped me the most is probably this one. Still, I had some issues, which needed to be resolved. My flow was good, but my supply quickly depleted. Here are some tricks I utilized to keep my milk supply constant and stable:

Decreasing my stress levels and eating healthy

First, I focused on decreasing stress levels. This was difficult because I have always been an anxious person and the pregnancy just added to that!

Second, I started eating healthy. At first I underestimated the importance of a good diet, but my milk supply quickly increased and has been stable ever since I eliminated most sugar and included some vegetables in my lunch!

Did any pills help me?

I would have to say no. I used every pill under the sun, even some were prescribed by my doctor. Nothing helped and nothing increased my milk supply properly. Increasing milk supply for me was done mostly through a proper diet and a generally healthy lifestyle - nothing else worked, including some 'proven' techniques that I have read on this forum.

I agree and have found rest and having a good balance of veg and protein with lunch and dinner to be the key. If I don't follow that and delay lunch or dont include a good salad for lunch not only is my milk supply lower but the old witching hour then rears its head and my poor little one is beside himself later that evening.
