Her songs contain lyrical content that mirrored the turmoil of her personal life, foreshadowing her untimely death. I'm afraid to be too honest about Amy and her music. Unfortunately I've never been a fan of Amy, but I can appreciate her music and loyalty to the genre to which she subscribes. I was hoping to have my views changed and come away with a softer heart towards Amy. Unfortunately not. Indeed, forced into stardom at a very young age, I can't help but think that Amy should have been born in the 1950's, however, I'm sure her fate would remain the same. Reading between the lines of the video, I saw a broken heart from a broken home with no respect for her parents wisdom and love. Watching her emaciated, alcohol ridden body, stagger and slur her way through songs only made me fast forward through the pain of it all. Conveniently, the video was released before the coroner declared that she died of alcohol poisoning - thus portraying this "poor, lost girl" as the victim of her fame. The nail in the coffin for me was the hard sell of the clothing line in Amy's name. Seems like a one-sided story to me. If you're a fan, I've got no doubt that you'll enjoy this video. If you, like me, were hoping to be enlighten, think again.

I did not know much Amy Winehouse before I watched this DVD, I really enjoyed the snippets from her concerts as I do love her songs, found the actual doco itself a bit vague... Felt that they were almost holding back some of the story and I walked away feeling like something was missing, it is a good overall look at her life and I would certainly recommened it if you enjoy her music.
