Womama - Juliette George and Heidi Holbrook

OHbaby!: How did Womama begin?
Juliette: Womama was born over a cup of tea as we
discussed the gap in the maternity lingerie market just after the
birth of our children. We could not understand why the "big brands"
had not addressed this niche as women we spoke to were crying out
for choices. Womama Ltd was conceived and launched five months
later to a welcoming market.
OHbaby!: Do you ever feel "mummy
guilt" about spending time working instead of with your
children?
Juliette: We have global aspirations, and this
takes hard work. We've tried being mums all day and working all
night, but you can only sustain that for so long. Having a
supportive family and great nannies means that our children are
happy, safe, and being stimulated.
Heidi: My nine-year-old likes to point
out that I'm always working. She sees me with a laptop on my knees
in the evening and checking my emails before I fy out the door in
the morning. It does take long hours and hard work to run your own
business; this is just a reality.
OHbaby!: What do you do
to get me-time?
Juliette: Just having a shower in the
morning without the little ones is a good place to start! Heidi and
I love to garden, pick flowers, listen to music, and spend time
with family and friends.
Heidi: I drive for an hour to get to
work; this is not a chore, but me-time which I love. I love to
garden, so a weekend dig is essential for retaining a balance in my
life. I love having Friday drinks with my girlfriends
too.
OHbaby!: What's the best advice
you've received as a mother?
Juliette: My mother always said to me, "Remember
what your name is." I would chirp back, "Oh it's on the back of my
hand in case I forget!" But I understand what the essence of her
comment was.
Heidi: Retain a sense of who you
are.
