Previously good sleeper
My daughter is almost 14 months old. She has always been a great
sleeper, self-settling and sleeping 11-12 hours at night. Two weeks
ago she had a cold and would wake up several times during the night
with a stuffy nose. Now, the cold is long gone, but she still wakes
up and cries 2-3 times each night. When I go to her room, she is
standing in her cot. I usually just have to lie her down, give her
her comforter and she'll go straight back to sleep. I don't pick
her up, and it's very quick and easy. However, if my husband
goes to check on her, she starts crying hysterically and tries to
push him away.
I don't really mind getting up once or
twice a night and doing it, but I worry that something else might
be wrong or that she has forgotten how to put herself back to sleep
during the night. Her comforter is within easy reach and there's
enough light for her to find it, so she does not really need help
with that. Do you think we need to 're-sleep-train' her? Or could
it be separation anxiety?
