Toni - forgot to say, I have some medium-sized pocket nappies on TM at the moment, if they don't sell you're welcome to have them for a few bucks.

Off to Wanganui for the night tonight, so better go get cracking with the packing and cleaning!

Hi all

toni - lol about the retirement village!

Vanessa - hope you start to feel better soon hun! You've got a tonne more energy than I do at the moment!

AFM - spent the morning being monitored in hospital again. Woke up at 2am to a gush of fluid, so thought my waters had broken. Not sure what it was though, as the Ob couldn't see any sign of fluid, but did say that it's possible that I had a hind-water leak as it's not uncommon for no evidence to show with an internal. I'm FAIRLY certain I didn't just pee myself!! But, my 'little' man is still happy, so just have to take it as it comes. Having a growth scan in a couple of weeks, so they'll check the fluid volume then. Oh, and you know you're having a big baby when the Ob has a feel of your tummy and says 'that's a decent sized one in there - have you done your polycose test!?!'

Man l've been so slack not posting but we've had a rough few days!! Ear infection then tonsillitis, very high temps, then the $hits from the anti b's, stopping eating, coughing to the point of throwing up etc etc, then back to the Dr's today and you guessed it, ears again!!!!!!!! my poor wee man is trying so hard to be happy but he gets so upset when he coughs at times. Not a lot of sleep going on as he coughs all night to the point of chocking, sooo not fun.
Any way enough about me.

Congrats Kristy and family, what a speedy labour! Jen tell that little (or not so little man) to stay put. Buga didnt open the other page so cant think what else l was going to say.

Have a great long weekend everyone, depending on how Floyd is we may go away on Sunday for the night as have a surprise party to go to

Hey ladies, sorry i have been really slack posting, i tend to read and then not have the time to reply so since my stupid hand is keeping me awake now is a perfect time

Congratulations Kirsty! he is such a cutie!

Congrats on your wee girl too toni! And so funny about the house, but like someone else said at least it would be quiet and all the grannys would be visiting all the time lol.

Sarah what a rough time your having Hope things get better soon.

Gjen - Hope your wee man starts behaving for you! Hope your growth scan goes well, sounds like he is going to be a good size even if he dose decide he needs to enter the world sooner rather than later.

Vanessa - Hope you feel better soon!

Rachel - id be keen to know how much for nappies too! The whole nappy and formula thing for both girls is putting a massive dent in the shopping budget! By the time we get 2 tins for Charlie and 1 for Emily and 2 packs of nappies each we are looking at $90-$100 before we even have food!!! Although we are weaning Emily off and she really only has 1 after her lunch in an attempt to get her to have a sleep and sometimes if she is having a bad night she has 1 then too.

Hope you have fun away tonight WW, hows the new location going?

Ok so maybe tmi but did anyone bleed for a prolonged period of time following birth? I had that issue with retained products from charlie and bleed till 8ish weeks then had 9days clear then away it went again and its still going......the Gp has started me on meds to stop it but they dont seem to be working so she is going to increase them just another bloody drama really.

Not much planned for the weekend here, hubby is working monday and they have asked him to be oncall sunday as they are short diesel and may need some drivers to go to chch to get some so we will see.

Had a good shopping day yesterday went to Jk and they have 35% off everything so brought some thermals for the girls for next year (although in dunedin they may need them next week lol) and cause they were last seasons colours got them for $6.50 each! then went to millers and brought myself 3 tops a wooly cardy, a really nice white vest with black polafleece inside and black embroidered flowers on the outside and a long sleeve tee all for $21! cause they have 50% off including sale stuff so pretty pleased and so was hubby lol. There are soo many sales on this weekend, id love to get a slide/swing set for emily so might have to laybuy one

Righto enough blabbing should really try get some sleep seen Gp yesterday about hand and she is refering me to another specialist so fingers crossed they have a better idea of how to fix these stupid nerves!

Ramble away Shannon. I often do.

Hope you managed to get some sleep. Told mum about the JK sale and she said that she will head up there today and have a look

I hope that when he does come Gjen that it is an easy delivery.

Poor Floyd Sarah. Really really hope he starts to get better soon.

Last night I had a dream that baby came early. But not to early, she was still healthy and happy, but in my dream I didn't get round to feeding her till she was 4hrs old. And she weighed 6.6Lbs. So now I am getting a bit more eager to meet her after that dream.

Have decided on calling her Gabrielle, or Gabby for short. Just have to settle on a middle name.

Thats a pretty name Toni!!!

Gosh GJen you are not having such a great pregnancy are you, hopefully all the drama is done with now. I think you should go for a 10lber hehe.

Sarah hope things improve with Floyd much love to you guys.

Eeek Shannon thats alot of $$$. And sorry i'm not any help on the bleeding issue tho i really hope it settles very soon. And yay for the bargins!!!

AFM my asthma is very bad at the moment has been for ages now, hoping to go on symbicort soonish after the trial on serevent is over, which is not going so well as it makes me cough for 1-2 hours after having it (which my GP said is normal and should settle after a month)he also said that stress is probably a major issue as well, hmmm how to get rid of that..
Well guess who had nits yesterday, yip Tessa so they are gone now with the use of tea tree oil and the comb but will have to be on the look out now for me as she sleeps very close to me, i did get my friend to look through my hair yesterday and she couldn't see any eeew it so yucky even thinking about them.
Mum has said she will have my 2 older kids for thenight tonight and all day tomorrow which is cool. Planning on going to see WWJen tomorrow so will be easier to take only the younger 2.

Hope everyone has a nice long weekend.

Hi everyone, I've been slack at posting too sorry! WOW Kristy congrats on your wee man, Bronson is soooo cute gonna lurk for your birth story after posting here
I don't think I've posted in the May thread for a few weeks hehe, keep forgetting I'm pregnant. Can't believe I'll be 12weeks next week! I'm sure I'm feeling little flutters already (only when lying in bed at night if I concentrate), thought I was imagining it but a girl in coffee group says she feels the same thing and she's due at the same time as me. No 12wk scan for me though so have to wait till I see my midwife next and hope she can find a heartbeat

Aww Sarah, sorry it's so tough for you lately hope things start looking up from now on. Thanks so much for looking after Chelsea on Sunday night (Magic Sarah got Chelsea to go to sleep!!! A miracle haha)

Toni, Gabrielle is a pretty name! What are you thinking for middle names so far?

Oh nappies, it ends up costing me about $10-15 for materials depending if there is a sale or not. Just PM me if anyone wants some and I'll be happy to make them

Eek GJen, didn't they check your fliud levels at the hospital? When I had my hind water break with Chelsea they did an internal and saw a membrane so said my water hadn't broken. But the OB came and did a scan and saw that ALL the hind water had gone so was none around her at all, only a small membrane at her head so I got induced that day (not as early as you are of course!) at least your lil guy is still happy and I'm sure they're keeping an eye on you though, but still I would have thought they'd check! Sorry for the lecture

Have fun in Wanganui WWJen!

Oh yes so Chelsea has 3 teeth now hehe, very exciting! She has stopped sleeping thru the night for the past while, but mostly I can get her back to sleep pretty quickly. She's saying lots of words (most of them still need translating though lol)

Forgot everything else I read hehe but I have been reading. Will try post more often. OK this is probably long enough now, hope you all have a great weekend!!!

Oh yeah Shannon forgot to say, I bled for 8weeks with Chelsea and it turned out there was some stuff still in my uterus at my 6weeks check (had a scan). But it came out itself over the next two weeks then I didn't bleed again till AF came back at 8months. Sucks it's still going for you hope they figure it out soon!

Hi Ali, posted at the same time as you. Sucks about your asthma, hope you can go on Symbicort soon! That's what I'm on and it's great. I didn't like Serevent either coz had to take it as well as Flixotide so was having two puffs of each morning and night, made me cough heaps too. I don't have any problems on Symbicort and hardly need to use a reliever at all.
Eek about the nits! Hope you don't get them, eww not nice! Have fun visiting WWJen!!

Nah I just went to a new Dr (coz the old one said it was too expensive for the government and they weren't allowed to prescribe it and she did all the paperwork etc. She got an authorisation number or something for me and then it was all sorted. Can't remember how long it took as it was 3yrs ago but don't think it was too long. Can't remember how long I was on the Serevent for either, must have been 3 months though...

Yay for 3 teeth Chelsea. Maybe the others aren't to far away. Might get you to make some nappies for me then Í guess I should start off with just a few small ones then see how we go? I have no idea. And was Gjen that had the others? I would be interested in those as well.

Found a really good house on TM today. 3 bedrooms, all done up inside and fully fenced section, 10mins from mums for only $300. Pity I have to wait till Tuesday before I can call the agent up. They didn't say any thing about cats in the add and mum says that I just shouldn't tell them. But I don't feel right about doing that.

Yeah Toni I think there must be some more teeth nearby as when I rub in bonjella her gums feel soooo lumpy!! Hope we get it all over with quickly from now on lol!

Have you looked at the Ohbaby newborn/small nappy hire kit in the cloth nappy section? You can hire it for up to 8 weeks, and if you get that then you can try a whole bunch of different types of nappies to see which ones you like the best as all babies are different with which nappies work best for them etc. And I can make you some of my ones too. And I think it was Ali with the other ones if I can remember from over the page hehe. To use cloth full time for a really young baby you'd need about 18-24 nappies (that's for washing every 2nd day). I pretty much have enough for this bubba now hehe. When they're older you don't need as many. I have about 15 for Chelsea and I can wash every 3 days and still have enough for the 4th day. (Well we have 20 if you count her night nappies too )

Exciting about the house!! Hope you get it

Toni a friend hired some nappies from Waitakere hospital but that was a couple of years ago so not sure if the still do it. (is that where youre going to have her?) Good luck with the house. love the name too

Ali l used to be on ventolin, oxis and flixotide, asked my Dr about symbacort, he called me three days later and said there was a script at the desk for me, costs me nothing (we have a high user chemist card) whereas ventolin was heaps!

Just had my MIL and her sister here, she rang up this morning saying they were on their way over to visit so I had to run around like a mad woman tidying the house lol (just don't look in my room )

Oh yeah Symbicort costs me $3 at the chemist for the first one, then the two repeats are free. When I ring up for my prescription it then costs me $15 to pick it up, but last time I just asked my doctor for a script while I was there for Chelsea so it was free pity Chelsea doesn't need to see the doctor for anything at the moment so I can do that again

Just seen the OB hire kit is available in March/April Toni so go check it out (at the bottom of 1st page of Cloth Nappy Discussion thread at the mo). It's $12 a week and an $80 bond that you get back. (look at the first post in the thread for details)

Golly, chatty in here today!! Just a quick visit (my mum's lurking out on the deck by herself, don't want to ditch her for too long!), GJen - hope you're doing okay, that little dude really wants to come out & meet you, doesn't he!

Ali, sucks about your asthma. I really hope they can get your meds sorted out - it's crazy that the government can dictate what doctors can prescribe to fix people up. Not cool at all. Have a great trip to see WW & I hope those nits don't find you!

Sarah, hope you guys are all okay...not fun having all these illnesses keep popping up. Bring on summertime & hopefully it'll be easier to stay healthy. Hang in there!

Toni - what a beautiful name! Yay! And good luck for the house!

Hope the bleeding stops soon, Shannon. That's the last thing you need with your arm still recovering too!

Rachel - how cool to be feeling flutters already! yay!

Right, better go...I can hear mum lurking about the place. Come on Jarvis, wake up already! (I can't believe I just wrote that!!)

I think I will ask my MW next time I see her about cloth nappy hires around the place. Am planning on using disposables during the meconium stage.

How come your not getting a 12wk scan Rachel? and can't beleive you are 12wks already, yay.

Oh the middle names I have thought of so far are only Rose or Louise (Louise is my middle name), but they just don't seem right.

Cody had fun at the birthday party we just went to. And since he was still awake when we got home I let him play in his paddling pool for 45 mins, and now he has gone to sleep without any fuss.

And I am going to have a nap as well. Mums partner has gone away on the boat for the weekend so the house is nice and quiet.
