You can get the tea at the supermarket and the 5W at health stores, its pretty expensive (the 5W that is)! I got a bottle but never used it all, never remembered to take it. I drank the tea a couple times a day for awhile but never enjoyed it so tended to forget to do that as well - my labour was very smooth and pretty quick regardless.

$70 on shoes? gee, I have a hard time spending that much on anything for myself let alone for a wee one who will grow out of it so quickly! There is some incredibly cute stuff out there though, hard to resist at times.

call me stooopid, but what is the difference between raspberry leaf tea and 5W, I was under the impression that they were the same thing? please correct me

Hmm if it makes for an easier labour then I'm all for trying it!

They own a sports shop so she wouldn't have paid anywhere near that for them, but the fact they're on the market at all means heaps of people must be paying that price for them!

Hee hee yip T is the first grand daughter on my side and first grandchild (and great grand child) on hubbys side, so yip very spoilt wee thing!

Moocow, those bobby j cow shoes are just leather - so no sheepskin inside. Not sure if you realised that or not, but I didn't as I almost bought some then saw them in a shop and realised the white stuff in the pic was just like packing or something, so not the slipper like shoes I was wanting!

I know what you mean we got given some Tip Toey Joey leather shoes from someone in Australia and they accidently left the price tag on. there is no way I would have paid $58- NZ for them let alone australian, especially since any baby of mine will probably have huge feet. But they are gorgeous!!

I think 5W and raspberry leaf tea I think do similar things....I took both with the girls as well as EPO orally and inserted

Both my labours were good I think....and super speedy with Paige.

5W you usually start from 35 - 36 weeks
I took EPO and raspberry leaf tea from 36 weeks.....The tea I drank was actually from the health shop not the supermarket....think what I took was much stronger.

Mindy - Sorry to hear about your gran

Moocow - that sucks about your stooker...hopefully they get the idea.

Those cow booties/shoes are so cute.....

My girls have got some crazy expensive shoes as well.....we have nike and adidas shoes in size 2, 3 ,4 and 5...thankfully they have all been given to us and all but one are unisex so will be able to use them for a 3rd time before giving them on.

Ekk I think I have forgotten what else has been said.....Hope those who are not feeling well feel better soon.

Oh I bought some Tip Toey Joey shoes on TM what T started to walk, they were by far the best shoes I found for her - but no way would I buy them new!!

I was intrigued by the 5w so:

Delivery formula. Facilitates child birth. It is reported to give elasticity to the birth canal and vaginal area. It helps aid in the control of postpartum bleeding and helps speed the delivery of the placental afterbirth. It eases stress and the duration of labour and delivery. An excellent formula for expecting mothers to take during the last 5 weeks of pregnancy.

Ingredients
Each 2 capsules contains a proprietary blend 900mg - Black cohosh, Squaw Vine herb, Dong Quai root, Butchers Broom root, Red Raspberry leaves. Other ingredients: Gelatine and water

So would probably be redundant to take the tea on its own as well. But I agree Cassie, very expensive, in order to buy enough pills for 5 weeks it'd be $90 I think I'll stick to the tea I have in the cupboard, I couldn't find how often to drink it tho - does anyone know??

Well thats a bit better knowing they wouldn't have paid that Booski- but I don't have trouble believer that there are people out there that would! (I know a lady, and her son and daughter were outfits worth a few hundred each, trelise cooper sort of stuff every day!)

Blondie- I think they are essentially the same thing. Just tea form and pill form? If I'm right. I could easily be wrong! But cos of the different forms, your body absorbs them differently and one might work for you while the other doesn't. Eek, I'm not sure now!!

I don't even know if we have a health store down here!! Will have to find out actually. I'm sure we do! But have no idea where....

Oh Booski, really?! I looked at them and thought they had the sheepskin on the inside too!! Noooo way! I feel majorly bummed right about now. I dunno if they'd be worth it then- totally cute! But definately not as practical as the wee sheepskin inner ones! At least they'd be warm (which down here is a priority over cuteness!) whereas I dunno how warm the cow ones would be...
I wonder if they'd still be warm enough with wee socks? But now that I think about it, I'd still put socks on baby with the wee sheepskin ones, so they probably won't be worth it. *sigh* it just not gonna do it for me anymore! I don't think I can justify spending that much on them now!!

Mindy - sorry to hear about your nan!! must have been such a shock when she wasn't sick or anything.

little bit late but re wipes - i have cut-up chux that i keep dry and just dip in a wee bowl of water for nappy changes, and then use facecloths for face/hands. they all go in the wash together though - with his clothes as well, although that'll probably change with baby no. 2 since i'll then have a big enough load of just nappies to do it seperately . i always wash with tea tree oil too, so know they are being anti-bac'd...

can't remember who commented on the nappy bucket situation, but if you're using mcn's you just dry-pail, so no liquid in the bucket at all. even so, you really need a lid or before you know it the nappys will be pulled out all over the floor . i keep mine in a lidded bucket lined with an old pillowcase and then put in the wardrobe. found it was easier that way to keep out inquisitive toddlers and also keeps any smells out of the bedroom (there's no clothes in the wardrobe so not like it will affect them).

sucky for those of you who are feeling sick... I'm just getting over my cold but DH is coming down with something now - great timing as we're flying out to Melbourne for the All Whites game (early!!) tomorrow morning... oh well - i've told him he can sit in the hotel room and feel sorry for himself while i hit the markets . what a mean wife!! lol! had to say goodbye to Cian this arvo and I think it may have been one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. i feel soooo guilty for leaving him for 3 nights... damn mummy guilt... i know he'll have a great time with his grandparents, but it's such a long time for a lil man i worry he'll think we're not coming back

anyway - probably won't be online again till we're back so have a great weekend everyone

Hi all.

Mindy hun, I'm so sorry about your nan . Mine died just as we started IVF so never got to find out that we were pregnant or meet baby. She lived in Wanganui too and baby is also getting her middle name.

Re Mary's market - the plan is still 9.30 at the bench. Does everyone who is coming (or not) want to post their plans so we don't leave anyone behind??

Angie/weegee - those are such cute shoes! We have some lime green sheepskin slip on shoes that I got for $20 on sale at redcurrent. I want some of the cowhide ones now and some bobux too. Oh to have lots of money.

Rachael - 6 weeks to go wow. Hope you are taking it easy after your full on day and enjoy the parent show tomorrow.

Hotmummy and Blondie, hope you guys aren't feeling to crappy - rest up and look after yourselves and those babies.

Trina, your antenatal classes sound, erm interesting....

gypsy, have a fantastic time in Melbourne you lucky thing. You mentioned that you wash with tea tree oil - do you just put a few drops in the wash as well as powder?? I like that idea.

Well I think I am joining the getting a cold club. I have been skiting all week about being the only person in my office not to get sick and now I have a scratchy throat and a dry cough. Me and my big mouth. I had some panadol earlier, will have a lemon and honey before bed and an early night so I plan on feeling fine tomorrow!

Better go, we're having burger fuel for dinner and DH is dying to go.

But they were soo soft and adorable, I knew they'd be something we'd use every day!! Now I've shown him those ones, he's actually kinda keen!
I might, just might be able to talk him into these ones .... Typical. He's a dairy farmer, if somethings sheepy, its nooo!! But if I find the same thing "cow" like, he's kinda tempted

have to admit they were about the $30 mark (but they do have sheepskin inners) so an extravagent purchase, but yeah, as I said, I collect cow stuff and just couldn't resist... I actually grew up in Hamilton, so the mighty Mooloo thing is strong in my veins!!

Oh dear, it seems I've forgotten have the grace of an elephant at the moment! I tried to kick my pj pants onto the bed as I took them off and owwww! Now I can't sit down without pain shhoting up my pelvis - good one!!

Does anyone else wake up completely famished?? I'd forgotten about this, but now remember having to make myself a snack right before bed to avoid waking up feeling sick!

And re: nappies and their bucket, yip we dry pail, with no lid. I had the bucket in Taylor's room just on the floor til she started to roll around and them moved it onto a ledge in the stairwell beyond the safety gate. Was good having it right there then as those were the days we'd have like 10 dirty nappies on occasion! We use tea tree oil too, I pop about 5 drop in a bit of water in the fabric softener bittie.

Right off to the book sale!!!

Booski, I am having same issue for a while now with feeling absolutely awful in the morning if I don't eat right before going to sleep. It must be the third trimester growth spurt, where they (me talking plural again - just ignore ) put on the fat layers to keep themselves warm! The specialist said to me the main reason why pre babies have to go into the incubator is because they don't have the ability to keep themselves warm. So I am grateful for ever gram of fat that they put on. Even if that makes me into beached whale, or a two story building

I'm off to the Womama sale and to the OhBaby mums meet up in Porirua after that. Lovely sunshine this morning for a change after a few days of rain!

RJ I knew you weren't being mean (In fact, I know exactly what you meant! First time Mum's really can be suckers for all sorts of stuff... )

Our X Flatmate was meant to be giving us the $1000 he owes us. HA yeah that didn't end up happening. He put us off last month with a lame excuse, so apparently we are getting it next month. Well, if he doesn't next month he's going to have one seriously fat, pregnant, hormonal ANGRY red headed female on his doorstep I tell ya!!!! I'll be 37 weeks (ish) pregnant and if he tries giving us another lame excuse it will NOT be pretty!!!

I was gonna use that money to get my $30 booties that aren't essential. Poos they'll have to wait now...

Booski, I also seem to have the grace of a elephant right now... so your not alone there!!!!

Oh yeah, the grace of an elephant. I have this. Actually I feel more like a tortoise - one of those huge slow moving 100+yr ones. My chiropractor had to help me up the other day coz I got stuck on my back and I'd forgotten that I have to do epic side-rolls to gain momentum to get up now haha She said that when she was 8mths pregnant she got stuck in the bath and had to yell for her husband to come wedge her out.

This is what I feel like

I just finished reading "Body after baby" and I'm not sure how I feel about it all... I always knew my body would never be the same again after having babies. Maybe I'm just feeling a bit weirded out by it all because it forced me to think about post-pregnancy and I've been focused so long on being pregnant that it's sometimes strange to think that there's an after part.... What do you mean I'm going to have a BABY to look after soon?
