Hi - thought i would start a new thread to find out who is currently receiving fertility treatment (govertnment funded or paid for). We have been trying for 2 1/2 years and 1 year with a fertility clinic. I thought it might be interesting to hear if anyone else has good/bad things to say about treatment or anything that would be helpful to those on it.

So far on fertility treatment we have had 3 months stand down time because i needed booster shots for some immunities that were low, 3 months clomiphene tablets and discovered during that time i'm not ovulating properly, 4 months clomphine and internal scans and trigger injection which YAY finally meant i ovulated but hasn't yet produced a pregnancy. I'm not sure what the next step is for us now if this month's cycle doesn't work (we go back to see them shortly).

Does anyone else have similar stories to share?

Hi there, We have been TTC for 2 years and I have my first appointment with a fertility specialist on the 17th of July. Sorry I don't have any fertility specialist stories to tell yet, but I am interested in hearing about your experiences and anyone elses, as I'm sure that may help when I embark on that experience.
Lou

Hi there!  We have been TTC #2 for 19 cycles, and I have been seeing a fertility specialist since December.  I have had 2 losses during that time, neither of which was while on any fertility treatment.

So far, I have had an ultrasound which diagnosed PCOS, the majority of my cycles monitored, 3 cycles of clomid (including cycle monitoring for all/ultrasound for one), and just recently an HSG.  I went back to my specialist last week to follow up, and he has given me a script for 2 more rounds of clomid, and after that, the only thing he is offering is IUI which I can't afford.

With my PCOS I seem to have a really mild case.  I still have regular cycles, and ovulate ok on my own.  With the clomiphene cycles I have done, I reacted beautifully to the drug (50mg) but still didn't get pregnant - hence the HSG.  They managed to unblock one tube during the hsg, the other shows an abnormality and they aren't sure if it is blocked or not.  I am trying to feel confident though, as the one they unblocked is my left, and all 3 of my pregnancies have come from my left ovary.  Hopefully thats a good sign.

All the best with youtr treatment, and I am hopeful that we will both be pregnant soon.

Hi Tarshaa

I also reacted really well to the clomiphene but still didn't ovulate so the trigger injections have helped with that - now it just seems to be a waiting game....
I had an HSG about 1 1/2 yrs ago as well and all is fine from that, at the moment i'm in the "unexplained" category because they can't find anything wrong. Its good that nothing (so far) has been found but kinda frustrating that its still not working!! Fingers crossed for us all!!!

< language=> Im in Fertility treatment too We have been TTC for practically 2 years, Miscarriage 23 months ago, DX with PCOS a year ago, Waiting for this dang cycle to finish so i can have an HSG done & start 50mg of clomid (1st cycle in 3), had two fertility appointments so far & have a great Dr @ Fertility Plus. All tests thus far are fine ( Dh even has super sperm!!) and this is all been since the m/c so am also going to have an ultrasound to see if that can shed some light on anything. then i got back in 3 months to see what our next step will be. (possibly IVF if we qualify).

We are also with Fertility Plus, they have been really good and our doctor is lovely. I'm just impatient!!!

Have they told you why your cycle is so long? Mine was really short before fertility treatment (i wasn't ovulating - but first month on trigger injection i ovulate and cycle changes to exactly 28 days!!)

I was with a private fertility specialist in wellington called Vasu Iyengar who removed my endo (stage 3) and put in barriers, took 3 hours instead of 1 hour (thats where most of my adhesion issues have come from, well that and having my appendix removed lol) and diagnosed me with PCOS, she started me on Clomid a year after trying and i was so horrified by the side effects i was determined to get pregnant was so lucky to be able to that month.

Before the surgery i had cronic pain from endo (on codeine), hadnt ovulated for a year but was still getting regular periods. After i had my surgery i started ovulating but my cycles were very random and all over the show and had a "weak" ovulation. DH had a sperm test and came back fine with no probs so i started the round of 50mgs of clomid CD2 - 6 with lots of BDing lol

Im sorry to hear that you werent successful on clomid i really really hope you are successful soon i know how mentally tiring it can be to try and not be successful and no that there is something going against you, but just make sure u never blame urself coz ur doing all that you can do.

Lots of babydust to you all that are still ttc
