Somebody pushed the 'bad mood, grumpy baby' button when Emily turned 4 months last week.
Not sure what happened there but I don't like it.
For the first time since she's been brandnew she didn't got to sleep tonight. 9.30pm and wide awake. I ended up putting her in our bed and lying down with her for a while before she eventually fell asleep. Gotta transfer her when we go to bed and I'm scared.

Oh bugger, really? Have you received yours yet? I had another look on the website and it comes with a seat cushion thing but no harness. |
Are you meaning the safety strap? Just looked at their website and the harness seems to be an optional extra, I'm not going to bother with that.

Snap greeniemum, I came on to ask about sleeping bags too. I've been browsing the Sleep Store website and there are quite a few, so wanted to get real life recommendations?
I hope Riley's reflux gets better again soon Nicola

woot woot - plunket weigh in yesterday and we weren't kidding ourselves that Spencer actually had a leg roll - he has put on 500grams this month and is now 5.6kg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just trucking nicely along the 0.4th percentile for his age - but still following a trend!! pretty happy with that. GO the neocate and losec!! amazing what happens when you aren't sh*tting 15 times a day and it isn't black water looking anymore!! Stll a short arse though - 57cm long LOL. Not even on the plunket graphs for lenght yet. hehehehehe I am no shorty but DH is - guess he has his genes there LOL.
Then the funniest thing in the afternoon was we had an appointment with the paediatrician for Amelie - just her routine 3 monthly asthma check up - but it was the same clown that didn't beleive in "reflux, asthma or allergies" in kids and dismissed us last time until plunket referred us to the other paed in chch who tested and diagnosed allergies and started neocate. So anyway - the doc asked about spencer while we were there (who was coincidentally screaming his head off through the appt LOL) and I said he was great now that we had seen another paed and he wason neocate like his sister and increased losec. He looked a little shocked and went "sh*t really?" hmmmmmmmmm then to make matters worse, I asked him to look into Amelie's mouth while we were there (full of millions of ulcers on her lips and swollen tongue with white coating and more ulcres) he tells me "it looks normal - just like she hasn't eaten in a while"........................... so I ask " why doesn't she want to eat and scream blue murder when anything touches her lips or tounuge?" he says" I don't know" and that was that. As a mum I am pretty sure millions of ulcers and a white tongue is NOT normal - so we went round to the medical centre afterwards and sure as eggs - Amelie has oral thrush.!!!!!!!!!! More than a little disapointed with a specialists opnion now - not sure that I have much confidence and will bother seeing him again if it is him that comes over!!
Sorry novel - needed a bit of a rant

sleeping bags I got the dimples medium weight sleep sack from the sleep store it was on sale at the time it fits from 0-2years so will last a while and worth the $90 I spent on it.
I also have a light weight bamboo sleeping bag from the BF that I had been using during the day and when the nights were warmer, I got 6-12 month size so we may get some more use out of it next summer.
BF have the same sleeping bags in merino for $39.99 this week thinking of getting one of those as a back up.
The last 2 nights Catherine has worn a singlet, AIO and been in her sleep sack, in the early morning I have put an extra blanket over her as that's when she tends to get cold.
Thinking of changing her sheets this week and putting her fluffy ones back on.
She's still got her heater the hot water bottle to go. When she was new born we used to put the hot water bottle into the bed before she was put in it, that way she wasn't going into a cold bed.
Wow go Spencer that's an impressive weight gain. Um why is that man a Paed?

Well she didn't wake up but only slept till 6am, woke for a feed and wouldn't go down again till just now. What the hell happened when she turned 4 months? I don't like it lol!
Oh nicola
Tamara, how is the donkey?
Gmunster OMG What an idiot. That would almost warrant a complain, don't you think???

we have a merino standard weight gogo bag and i love it for nights! don't have to worry about sheets and they have a temperature guide so i know what to put under it at night. i am still wrapping her (the miracle wrap and just doing the arms/upper body) and will stop that when she looks like she can roll at night. i know they are expensive but unlike other babies clothes that last about 1 second these last for 2 years
silvia also slept until 6am. i got up to feed her and as i started realised that she had pooed so while changing her nappy she vomited - thats when dh took over and i went back to bed! she went down at 8am for 25mins
becs i can't believe that man works with children! does he have no clue at all? i would defintely complain about him
caitlin welcome back! i totally understand the need for a day at home and the nappy changing does not sound like fun at all
i am going to venture out today for my own sanity! so should we meet at parade cafe carpark then go for a walk before some cafe time?

1.30 at parade carpark sounds good to me.
Caitlin, fully understand the need for a rest, hope your milk supply improves again. Glad you had a good holiday.
Sleeping bags, we have 2 that mum made but haven't used it yet as its a very warm sleeping.
Nicola, hope the reflux improves soon, again.
Susy, hope things improve with Emily and she resorts to her normal self.
Gmunster, good news about Spencers weight gain, hope it continues. Its worth putting in a complaint about the paediatrician as its not good if they miss a case of oral thrush that got that bad, also with the other problems you have had with him. I doubt you will be the only one that has had these issues with him and the manager needs the written complaints to be able to do anything.
Ive got good morning on and Felix has just become very noisy, I think he thinks they are talking to him. Hes very happy which is great.

Reflux + cold = mega cranky baby
mega cranky baby + DVDs for three year old = tiny bit of sanity
Becks - That dr would drive me INSANE!! Hopefully you never have to see him again, Amazing how some doctors are next to useless, and others are worth their weight in gold, but yet all have the same quals. Hope your first working day ended up ok! How was Spencer with your MIL (Is that who's looking after him and Amelie?)
We use the Merino Go Go bags. DD used them full time until she moved into her BigGirl bed, and they're still in great condition, so they are excellent quality.

As you can see I am quite busy first day back ()
Spencer and Amelie are all pretty good with MIL - they see her all the time anyway since she lives 600m up the road. The only thing that irks me is that they won't let Spencer grizzle when he goes to bed, they feed and rock him to sleep instead which goes against our sleep training! BUT, it is childcare and I wouldn't be able to work without it!
Roll on 5pm
