Topic: Baby Capsule question Posted: 05 January 2011 at 3:14pm |
Hi there, I wasn't sure where to put this. I am currently pregnant with number 4 - DH's number 1.
We have been looking at baby capsules and would like one we can click into a base but also want to be able to have it click into a snap and go or a pushchair it can click into...hopefully I am making sense.
Can anyone recommend where I might find these or a brand that is good.
Thank you

I think all that snap into a base would go onto snap and go wheels. I don't know much about brands though, just have our safety first one that has a base.

I had a Milano travel system pram + capsule and that cost me $300, they also had a base which was $70. Tbh I found the base a pita and preferred strapping the capsule in each time, esp as I knew it was safe.

I loved my base and capsule, it saved a lot of time and effort strapping it in and I knew the base was secure, so the opposite of you Nicole

Yep would have to agree about loving the base, is there a Baby on the Move by you? I got my Graco capsule and base for $120 for 6 months from them and they install it for you so you know that it's really safe and everything and are really helpful Totally recommend them
edit - they also hire out snap 'n go too

I had a milano travel system too, it was great as I could just snap the capsule in and out. The only draw back was that it didnt fit the new snap and go wheels, but luckily my local baby on the move had one of the older versions that I could hire. I got told by them that it was much safer to have the capsule attatched to the base than with a seatbelt- i cant remember why tho.

The Graco capsules (which sit on a base) can also go on the phil & teds push chairs. We were able to hire the old E3 travel system strap things that held it in place on the Phil & Ted sport. Other friends have put theirs on diff P&T models. The straps were $10 to hire at baby on the move.

We also have the Graco and highly recommend it.
We bought a universal car seat clip for our Mountain Buggy Urban Elite and the Graco fit into that just fine.

I got told similar too but that it depended on the base and your seat type. I found our base, even when we got it installed by a carseat specialist it moved a heck of a lot more than with just the seat belt alone.

I find this as well, almost thinking of ditching the base since it tipped once coming round a sharp corner!!
OP - I hired my capsule, base and snap n go wheels from Plunket. It cost $110 for 6 months, very easy! I have to return it in Feb and man, am I going to miss that snap n go!!
