Hey starting over... CD1 for me too...I'm starting Meds (gonal-f) and IUI end of May - too much on at work for IUI straight into this cycle, plus there's new tests that both me and hubby have to get done, to be able to start, so I decided end of May worked. 23 May I go in to learn injections.   I actually noticed this cycle - at about 8DPO that spotting starts though doesn't come down IYKWIM (checking cervix only -sorry TMI) for me and continues right through till AF. I wonder if that means anything, or nothing. I thought there was a glimmer of hope when I saw that at 8DPO then it just turned into the usual spotting CM by 11DPO ...gah! I have to see the GP to get updated smear - standard smear isn't enough for FA they check other things - so might ask her when I'm there..... Anyway...best of luck and hope you had a great holiday.

The holiday was wonderful but I guess I can't have been that relaxed! I'm all good to go for my IUI just need AF to start! I have to take oral meds day 3-7, having a saline scan between days 5-10 to check my uterus and tubes, take OPK tests from day 10 twice a day and then rush in as soon as I get a smiley face! Talk about rigid...

AF 'should' arrive tomorrow, but I'm wondering if all the time zone changes might muck me up a bit??

I get the run down on mine on the 23rd from our nurse. I don't know how they're going to run it yet. I do know my meds are Gonal-F which is the injection and there's a good chance they'll get more than one egg so we both had to sign off on being okay with multiples. I'd imagine that means there's a lot of bloods and scans to check things. No idea! haha   I think the start of my next cycle will be 26th. I've got to see the GP next week so I'm going to get her to run Day 21 bloods - the only blood test that hasn't been done through this ordeal. I just want to get progesterone etc. checked after noticing the 8DPO spotting. In the meantime I've gone to the clean green diet and cut out the caffeine and alcohol altogether.   I have everything this works for both of us :-D

CD 1 for me today I have rung my nurse and booked my scan so so far it goes: start meds on CD3, scan is booked for Monday, bloods next Thursday and then we wait until I ov.

I'm the same as you Miss Bling...was so easy to conceive my first 2 though I was 28 and 29 when I had them, but you have to wonder why things have dramatically changed in 5 years. Anywho, we will do what we have to do, though I suspect if we don't get pregnant after a round of IVF (if it takes that) we probably won't try anymore. I'm not eligible for any public funding, so we are having to pay for everything ourselves

We're in the same boat. Paying for everything, though I have gone on the public wait list for a laparoscopy to check I don't have any scarring etc. from the previous pregnancy/birth. If there is, he can fix it. I don't know how hard we'll try. I guess until someone says its probably not going to happen .....

I had my saline scan yesterday...it wasn't too bad except when they flushed my fallopian tubes - OUCH!! Anyway, my uterus and ovaries all looked OK and my left fallopian tube flushed well, it took a bit to flush the right one as it was slightly stuck down, so now its nice and open :-) Still feeling a bit crampy today but not too bad. I have a blood test on Thursday to check hormones. I think they are looking to see whether a follicle is developing but there was a big one on my left ovary, so looks like I'll ovulate OK this month. Next week will be my IUI if I ovulate around CD 16.

Best of luck... We just got an insurance pre approval for the laparoscopy and hysteroscopy so I'm booked in for 10 June. He'll check and fix any scarring and blockages and then hopefully we might be able to skip IUI but at least we'll know everything will be in order once that's done! I'm so glad we figured it out with the insurance... - would hate to have done IUI to find out there was scarring causing the problem!
Talk to the nurse tomorrow - the procedure is right around OV lol so I guess that's June out for us...for good reason though :)   I guess there's the silver lining to hubbies new job and travel - the insurance :)

Hi ladies, thought I'd check in and say hi and see how everyone's doing. I didn't really feel like I was TTC because we went through a six-month period of diagnosing/testing etc. You may remember from my earlier post that I have PCOS and a prolactinoma (benign brain tumour).

I've been on my meds (metformin for PCOS and cabergoline for tumour) for nearly three months now. Have had some great news over the last couple of weeks.

Tested my prolactin levels last week and they were normal (180, normal is 100-500, I was previously at 1100) - yay!

And I did an ov test on Day 21 and that was "possible ov" - yay! (previously I'd always got "No ov")

And my cycle had been getting longer and longer over the last year (had got up to 45 days) but this month it was back to my previous 'normal' of 28. YAY

So now I feel like a 'normal' 35yo TTC! I have some OPKs so will start using them. I feel so excited that I'm now ovulating... even though it doesn't mean that I will get pregnant, it just means that I CAN get pregnant, which is just awesomeness!

I hope everyone else is doing well.

Hi JuniorO!

No luck for us this month. SO HARD not to be a crazy paranoid person and think about all the things that are going on inside you.
Will humans evolve to be able to monitor their own bodily functions??? hahaha

Glad everything is 'under control' with Polly

Great news Junior0!

MissBling - health insurance is very handy! I've had 2 laparoscopies to excise endometriosis and had my tonsils out all thanks to insurance! Would have been waiting forever on the public list.

I was so crampy after my IUI...it felt just like early labour lol! Two weeks is so long to wait!

Very quiet in here...!

Miss Bling, just read your post from the other thread. Gutted for you, but at least you know what you need to do now instead of wasting anymore time. When will you be doing your first round of IVF??

AFM, I had my 2nd IUI on Saturday. Clinically everything went perfectly - potentially 3 eggs released, 9 million of DPs best sperm (lol!) and timing perfect. If we don't get our BFP this time, we have to take a break. No more money and we can't afford IVF We have just bought a house, so all our savings went into that. IVF will have to wait another year if it comes to that...

How is everyone else??

Hey! I keep meaning to post update in 2WW but that thread runs off with conversations about potential preggy symptoms so there's never a right time to post haha
It was a bit gutting but like the specialist said unlike so many we know what the problem is and everything else is perfect so IVF gets us around our problem....that's the silver lining ...and because of the problem we have it gets public funding too though we'll pay for private rat her than wait...
We have 2 weeks where we can't bd etc while the body heals - I have four incisions around my abdomen from the surgery .... Then I have to get my cycle back in sync then we'll go for an IVF cycle ...so July I guess :)

Fingers crossed for you and IUI ...I hope you get that bfp :) I'll be watching for your good news

Hi ladies, I thought I'd just let you know that we are UTD, due Feb 2015. It's all pretty exciting as it's been such a journey with bumps along the way. We're obviously still not in the clear, but fingers crossed and I'm being very careful! Anyway, thought it would be nice to bring some positivity into the forum, to remind others that it can happen... yay!

Good luck with your journeys ladies... fingers crossed for you all.

This month AF is 4 days late so far, last month I had the same but it arrived 3 days late. I took a test last month which was negative.
I have never had this problem before, I have always been like clockwork. My stress is the same as normal and nothing has changed.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I haven't experienced that, Beach Mum, but my BFF did. When she was TTC all of a sudden her clock-work cycle became a bit more sporadic. She thinks it was because she was actually thinking about it and anticipating it, so while she didn't feel stressed the thinking about it was enough to cause it to be late.

I'm finding this month really frustrating. According to my temperature I didn't ovulate this month. (It did rise a bit, but then fell then rose again, then fell etc) I know it is normal to have some months without ovulation, but now I just want my period to arrive so we can start a new cycle that actually has ovulation!

Beachmum the first cycle we actively started trying I ovulated at CD15 and had a 28 day cycle when I had almost always OV at CD12 and had a 25 day cycle. Seemed very strange to me!

I am the proud Mum of a 2 year old and my husband and I are trying for number 2.
I have got to the point where I am getting upset with friends that are pregnant. I am super happy for them but in the same token I really want to have another baby and am getting a bit sad about the situation.
Last night I was supposed to catch up with some friends for dinner. All 3 of them are pregnant. I stopped to check the map and then I realized I was crying and the reason I was crying is that I had realized the majority of the conversation would have been about babies and pregnancy. I text making a lame excuse and came back home crying!!!!!
My husband and I started trying for number 2 in August last year, however if I am honest I was not ready for another one and we hardly had sex to even conceive, I just kept making excuses. It got to the end of the year and I realized this was happening and I started charting my cycle. It is insane still after having our daughter. We had a month off trying in Feb because we had changed our eating considerably and I wanted to loose some weight. Then in April I had the MMR booster and I had to have another month off trying because I had that.
So... really my husband and I have not been trying for another baby for long but I think because I have been thinking about it for a year now I feel like there is something wrong with me. All these people around me are getting pregnant easy as (outsider looking in I know) and I keep thinking there is something wrong with me even though I know we have not given it a good go.
And now I keep putting pressure on the situation worrying that soon my sister will be starting to try for number 2 and I am sure my sister in law will be trying in the next 6 months as well. I don't know how I will take it if both of them get pregnant before me.
Anyway, if you have read all of this you deserve a medal. I realized last night that I am sad about the situation and I don't have anyone to talk to about it because all of my friends are either pregnant, get pregnant first time trying, don't want another one yet or have had more children.
I am feeling really alone at the moment when it comes to this.
