I had a cuddle of my friends grandaughters 6 month old twins soo cute and luckily didn't make me feel sad about my own situation. Anyways after I left,the mother of the twins was told that I was having fertility issues and offered to be an egg donor. She's 27 and with twins obviously has no fertility problems. I don't know her that well so I feel like it's too huge an offer to accept but another part of me wants to. Do you think I should maybe let her know what's involved to see if she's prepared to go through with it?

Thanks BC. It wouldn't be until next year that we may need an egg donor but if I let her know now what's involved and if she does back out then at least I don't spend the next few months thinking she's an option.

Phew Soda that's some full on times on FB. Totally get it hun!

I say just book the appointment and get it done (if you can afford it). We did that for our first couple appts and were already well on the donor list, and had checked off some of the jobs on the list (that need doing before treatment) before I even got the public appointment. It was 5 mths from referral to public appointment. Best few hundred I ever spent. But for us we were in a position where we could afford to do that.
And I get your large family comment too....jeez I wanted 4 of the lil beggars but now I'm looking at settling for one (or begrudgingly 0 - urgh I hope not!).

Good on you Tulip. Definitely good to look into the option now and know where you stand.

Yeah I get frustrated having to play phone tag soda. Same deal as you at work - I usually ring when I have a spare moment but leaving a msg sucks.

Charlie-:( That is sad news. I hope 2015 is better too. When I feel down, sometimes getting something baby related keeps me positive. As if I am telling myself, it is okay, this will happen. I don't know if that will help.

I have been lurking the last few weeks, I have my first appointment as FA in two weeks now and I still haven't gone to get the bloods done beforehand. I went yesterday but they had sent the wrong forms through so now I need to go back again.

Tulip, I think you could suggest they get in touch with a donor coordinator to find out more. It is a huge thing to do but you undergo counselling and get lots of information so you can make an informed decision. It is something I have considered. However I have no eggs of my own at the moment.

My plan is to see if less training (I run lots and lots) and stress will help get my cycle back. If in six months nothing then I will look into getting some medical help. I have tried running less the last few weeks and gained four kilos this year but still no eggs :(

Babycrazy: Stick Baby Stick! I really hope you get good news for Christmas. I would be terrible at keeping a secret. How hard those 12 weeks must be for people? Sorry but with all the acronyms I can't keep up. Did you end up doing ICSI with a donor?

soda glad to hear you're feeling a bit better, it's such a roller coaster with all the hormones surging around. My cycle has been messed up with all the drugs this year, last month I was feeling really depressed and upset, and hubby asked if it was just PMS. I angrily told him it was 6 days too early for that but next day I had to tell him he was right, AF had arrived - my shortest ever cycle. Funny that he knows me better than I know myself but I was actually relieved to realize it was probably the hormones talking (or in this case crying)

I've been pleasantly surprised at how I've felt on the IVF meds, was expecting awful mood swings but so far so good. Have had lots of headaches but work understands so I've been coming home early most days for an afternoon nap with the cat :)

Trigger shot tonight then collection Monday morning. Feeling a bit apprehensive but if the drugs are anything like the ones I had when my wisdom teeth came out I probably won't even remember it! My estradiol yesterday was above 6000 and the clinic nurse today said I should read their info on overstimulation syndrome. Hoping I don't get it but not going to worry about it for now - just looking forward to getting on with collection

BC - Antibiotics can give you thrush, as they kill off the good bacteria too. I'd really recommend eating plain unsweetened yoghurt each day and drinking cranberry to help your body with the negative effects of the antibiotics.

Thanks mushroom - haven't actually started antibiotics yet but will remember that for when I do cos I always get it with them.
