Hiya JW206350, I take Letrozole (or Femara is the other name) which is an alternative for Clomid.
My cycles were long and irregular (could be up to 40+ days) and now on the drugs are easy to chart and are 28 days. The last couple of cycles I chose to pay extra and have monitored cycles (i.e I have ultrasounds around ovulation time) as I was convinced I was not ovulating on day 14, I was right, so it hasn't quite corrected that.
I have taken 9 cycles of Letrozole, find it easy to take and almost symptom free. I got pregnant twice (after cycle 3 and cycle 6. On my ninth cycle now.
Like Chelsea said, feel free to ask questions.

Hi
I have an appointment at Repromed in a couple of weeks so I wanted to get some background info from those who have taken it, just in case that is what the specialist suggests. Are there any side effects? My partner and I are in our early 40's, starting late because we met late! We have only been trying for 3 months but thought we may as well try everything. I have been having acupuncture and herbs, have given up drink and caffeine, and I seem to be ovulating according to the OPK tests at least. My cycles are between 27 - 32 days, I am not sure if that is considered irregular or not?
cheers!

Hi there. I'm starting today. Cd3 and 5th month trying this year. Had 3 previous mc In 2014/2015. My questions are should I be on progesterone supplements as well? And if I do get pregnant should I carry on taking the progesterone?

Bonnie it depends on the reason for the clomid..are u low in progesterone normally? My progesterone tests were never above 30 (needs to be over 30 to sustain a pregnancy otherwise your body will just get its period regardless of if you conceived or not) anyways i DIDNT take progesterone and my numbers went from 25 to 32 and i conceived so still not high but ok so sustain.

My pg was 16 which I've since found out is on the low side which makes me wild that noones ever told me. Well FA never mentioned that but was border line. I'm already taking pre conception vitamins plus folic and update and evening primrose oil. Sometimes it feels like overkill. I'm hoping that the clomid will improve the progesterone. But I also read somewhere that clomid reduces the ewcm? So hoping preseed will take care of that.

I conceived my 2 with clomid I have Endo and PCOS and my eggs are poor quality when released so was put on clomid for a boost which worked I hated the side effects though it was tough but well worth it.
