Yah, we can finally start a Dec one! Just got a very faint line so very excited....but nervous! Am 40 and pregnant with no3 and have m/c before so these next eight weeks will be nerve racking! Think due date is 10 Dec. Have been TTC for 10 months and because of my age I sort of thought it wouldn't happened but great that it has!

Wow congrats Linda!  You must be very early on- how many weeks are you? I'm so hoping to be in this thread soon too after a m/c earlier this month...in fact there are a few of us in the 2WW now who are hoping to be December mummies

Very early days - only about 4 weeks. My other son was born 06 December so I hope that this one will give a few days in between (due date is 10 Dec).

I've been on a diet since Jan to help with my chances of getting pregnant and it must have worked - have lost 10kgs which I am really happy with....and of course even better is that I can stop the diet (although wont go crazy with food!)

Hi Linda!
Can I join you?
I got a faint BFP this morning and am due 17th December. How are you feeling? I have very sore breasts, lots of crampiness down low behind my pubic bone, but not cramps like with my period. I have been having hot flushes this afternoon and am really hungry. I lost the last baby at 17 weeks so I am pretty nervous. I am going to my GP hopefully tomorrow and then will have a scan at about 7 weeks.
Looking forward to getting to know you and all the other December mums.

Marion

Well of course, welcome aboard!

Yes, very sore breasts...its like they're foreign objects at the moment but symptom wise thats about it. I get bad MS which will start around 8 weeks so not looking forward to that. In the process of looking for a specialist but the one we used previously is not longer doing maternity.

Sorry to hear about your lost at 17 weeks, and can understand you are very nervous. I have also had a MC (at 10 weeks) but my biggest concern is that I am 40 so have a higher risk (I think) of MC. Still, at the moment I am happy to get through each week at a time. I live in Wellington

Great...and you've got a ticker so I can monitor that to see where I am at (I'm not very good with tickers etc). Roll on week 12...then week 20...then week 25 and then week 40! These are my targets - 12 weeks because you have less risk of MC, week 20, half way, week 25, if you deliver early there is a slight chance of survival (not saying I would want to deliver at 25 weeks) and then good old 40 weeks!

Great to have someone else in Dec and great that its on the same day.....cyber twins!

Posted By: Phat_Cat
Date Posted: 12 April 2008 at 5:54pm

LOL tickers are very easy to do. If you want one like mine then go to http://www.i-am-pregnant.com - www.i-am-pregnant.com and follow the easy steps there (and you dont have to join) then you copy  the one that goes [URL=http..... etc then go to the pink profile name(which is at the top of this page) then paste it into your signiture then viola there it is :)

I totally agree with you goal wise and im sure hoping that the evening sickness im getting (again *sigh*) doesnt last for 20 weeks like last time.....are you going to find out the sex? We probably will again Im too impatient LOL

Im also looking forward to the 12 week scan... a friend of DH's has had a dream that we are having twins one of each sex and I have a funny feeling too... but then I did think Tristen was going to be a girl... LOL

Hi can I join this thread to? Got a BFP today and it is our first child, so feeling excited and nervous all at the same time. I don't feel that different at the moment, although have slight cramping and my face has been feeling quite warm and flushed for the past few days. Is that normal? I am a complete novice when it comes to all of this, so I may be asking lots of questions!

From my knowledge its normal not to feel anything much till around the 6week mark is when things start to happen -  for me anyways with sore boobies & morning sickness (except mine is in the evenings) and the tiredness.... why did i want to do this again LMAO!!!

Thanks for the link for the ticker...I will give it a go. Looks like a good website.

Can't wait for the 12 week scan and then yes, will be finding out the sex. The big thing will be knowing how many are in there. Twins don't run in our family but there is an increased chance of being pregnant with twins if you conceive 40plus.

I usually get bad morning sickness and last time it went to about the 20 week mark. No sign of it yet but am prepared....stocked up on airplane sick bags to have as an emergency.

Hi,
I'm 5 weeks preggers today for the first time after our 2nd Ivf cycle. My levels are apparently good. they were 225 on day 28 then 1242 on day 32. I've got another blood test to check they are still rising on Friday but the week can't go slowly enough, today i dont feel anything I wish I was throwing up at least then I'd know its real!! Its great to find other people at the same stage as me! I'm due on the 16th Dec!

Mind you been sick again  today after 2 days being ok so.... no HCGs for me asked the nurse about it when she was doing my other bloods and she said they are only done if there are any concerns I said well yeah another miscarriage LOL But I do have a scan booked for the 29th so will be interesting to see what is there and how many LOL

Also have to be closely monitored again as im at high risk for another episode of pre-eclampsia but im using the same midwife that looked after me at the end last time (my first midwife had an op) so she knows how i want to deliver and all about me so kinda glad that we didnt end up moving...

No I never went to school there and my younger Brother and Sister went to Rodney College.

You might remember my Brother's name. Simeon, he was killed in 96 in a car accident North of Wellsford...Was a big write up in the paper, He would have been the same age as you, born the same year..

Noodle, my due date is 12 December. I went to the Doctor's yesterday to confirm everything. Still getting some cramping, which makes me paranoid, but so far so good. No morning sickness or sore boobs yet! We haven't told many people yet just immediate family and very close friends. I feel like I am walking around with a big secret!

Yep thats very very true...I use to work the Wellsford Ambulance, I did it for 3 years and my Mum did it for 10, She stopped after Simeon was killed and they moved away from there in 97, they now live in Pahi, near Paparoa.

Good luck for your test, i really wanted to just go and get a test done this morning to ease my mind but told myself I was being stupid! So friday it is and then i'll be like you, hopefully i can relax a bit knowing i've had three tests and they've all increased like they should - although i'll probably still be freaking out until our scan!

Yup im freaking out to. Especialy after the last m/c but just trying to b positive. The only tell tale sign for me is that im really hungry like straight after I eat the hunger pangs are back! It was really cute because I went to DPs work to have a sandwhich with him for lunch and I ate mine then he got half way through his then said im full I cant finish it do u want it and I was like ok. Once I was done he was like u just looked like u were still hungry and I dont want neither of my girls going hungry:) He thinks we will have another girl Other than that my nipples are tender but ot really sore and I TMI have been having real loose bowel movements for the last few days I know TMI lol

OOo I got the "Loose BM's" in eary pregnancy aswell, just for a few days when I was very newly pregnant like 3 to 4 weeks along.
NeoshasMummy I know how you feel being nervous, I had a m/c in July last year and when I fell pregnant again a few months later my DF and I were very scared, especially when I had some more bleeding early on, I thought it was all over, but nope all was well and this lil monkey will be here in 7 1/2 weeks!! eekk

Good Luck ladies!! December babies rock! I was born on December 20th!! hehe

When do you normally have your bloods taken for the first time for a pregnancy? My doctor told me yesterday that my mid-wife will organise it and the mid-wife advised me she will organise it for closer to 12 weeks, which is when I due to meet her for the first time. Is that the norm???

I dont know because I'm through ferility clinic and they do a blood test at 4 weeks then four days later then every week until 8 weeks, its to check your levels are increasing as they should be and they also do a scan at 7 - 8 weeks to check the heartbeat. A friend who has had a couple of miscarriages always has weekly blood tests as well to pick up any early signs that its not all going well. I thought usually your GP would do a test if you went to them and then it would be repeated a few days later to check your level was increasing, thats what another friend had who went straight to her GP had when she found out.

Ok just rant the nurse and she said my number is in the 28000 mark. Apparently at 6 weeks it has to be around 30000. Looks good so far she said, but it will have to rise again when we do the 2nd blood test Tomorrow. Feeling a bit better about this now. I can relax just a tiny bit!!

Good luck for Friday Kiwigirrl.

And DebsB that seems a bit late to do Blood test, because from what the nurse told me the numbers change after 6 weeks pregnancy. Why cant your Doc organise that for you?? Ask them again I think!! (I know I would have) LOL

Oh Oh...I had loose BM too just a few days ago it got back to normal!!

Its fun to see how we are al going thru the same thing!! He he ha ha

Yah great test that seems so high but I guess if they're doubling every day or so they increase really quickly! I hope mine are in that vacinity on Friday I'll be 5 weeks & 3 days so should probably be over 10,000 i think.

Thanks for the info. It wasn't my normal doctor I saw yesterday as they're on holiday (husband & wife practice). I saw a locum who was actually from Canada and she check with the nurse regarding it all. And I didn't know what to expect them to do either, with it being a first time experience. Maybe I will have to change doctors, lol.

If you are 5.3 weeks prgnant then you want to know what your hormone leves are...like my Nurse just tld me at 6 weeks it should be around 30000 and the second one has to dbl. This is a good time to check if all is well and then you can relax.

Surely any doc can you give you the blood test form. if you are any thing like me then I would go nuts wondering if all is well up untill 12 weeks. And after 12 weeks the % of MC goes down to like 3%. So you really dont need to know if all is well!!

I dont know...I am just a paranoid person!!

I am sure all will be well with you KiwiGirrl!!

Those are the accepted amounts world wide..

Unsure what your nurse was talking about as I had a blood test at 5 weeks and it was 1700 mIU/ml and the Dr reckoned that was in the normal range for being that far along.
