Hey debs you're on late.. Yep There's alots of Palmy Mums, Diana used to be my neighbour when i lived in the little upstairs flat.. Ayja and Hayley are 12 days apart. WE have just been talking our way trhough the signing in and posting process. lol

not for ages our car is too small to travel with 2 and all their stuff. As fo being up late Mikey slept all day and so is having awake time and I have just done my dishes our stupid hot water clinder is broken so we have no hot wter,

Nah i don't go to speedway at all any more - i used to when i was preg - i used to crew for Mike's dad - big preggy lady climbing up cleaning the cars - took care of my nesting well and truely - helped that his car was white anyway, so by the time it went out for each race, it was gleaming... such a futile effort!

Hi Dianna and welcome  I live in Palmy too (Milson) and have a 15 mo girl Briona with one older (Hannah) and another on the way already (Krystiana). Are you in some kind of playgroup? Briona has just cut some teeth, fortunately she doesn't cry very much (about teeth...) but it doesn't make her wake at funny times during the night sometimes.
After tea tonight I taught the girls how to play ring-a-ring-a-rosie and they loved it, complete with Briona mocking her on "all fall over" routine!!  -------------  |

I'm another Palmy mum. I've got my monster who is 2 1/2 years and i'm due with number 2 in Feb. I'm in Takaro, right by the Arena, I hear the speedway every Wednesday and Saturday night. I love it but DH doesn't. We so have to have a Palmy catch up. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

Yeah our first flat when we were teeny boppers was number 19 Pascal st.. the house they bowled to make that new carpark on the left of the stadium in front of marist. feels weird going past and our flat not being there. what a steal, was $85 a week rent, lol, and we split it between us. no wonder we were rich.
Anyway mike loved it, only 2 doors down from the stockies. I used to like it but got a bit bored going every weekend, hence why cleaning the cars was my fav pass time by the time ihad the girls. Would like to go again and prob wil this season as mike is driving in the boy racers - his dad built him a little civic to hoon in. I'm not too sure as we only moved here in April and our girls go to daycare.. but if you find a good kindy let me know, IF on the odd chance the girls end up going i would have no idea really where to take them.
We are in the street that runs off the airport, about 2 mins walk away. At first it was so rowdy, but now we are used to it. ------------- Janine and her 2 cool chicks, Paris & Ayja

Yeah lollipops is still here down Matipo St off Rangiteiki St almost at Tremaine Ave. I have taken Andrew there and its not as good as the old one that was down Pitt St. Alot smaller and the staff weren't very helpful at all. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

When it first opened in Palmy, I went for a job "interview" there, for a get-me-through-Massey job. Well, the owner said that the interview would take the whole morning, and basically they'd get me to work in all different areas for the morning and see if I was up to scratch. About 5 of us did it at the same time. He put me in the uniform (2 sizes too small... I looked so porno it wasn't funny and the mum's there stared at me as if to say 'you work with kids?!?'), and I slaved for 4 hours. Even got to be "Lollipops the cat" - the suit hadn't ever been washed, and the mouth that was meant to have a peep-hole in it to see through had caved in, so a staff member had to lead me around by the hand. She led me into a kid's party room, where the little terrors squealed "it's Lollipops....." and before I knew it I'd been knocked to the ground by tiny people who were then climbing all over me while the staff member said innefective things like "don't do that to Lollipops... please". And worst of all - none of us were paid for our time, and I don't think they employed anyone out of it! Craziness!! ------------- Andie |

remember the catch up we had at lollipops i think it was about a year ago, cos Liz hadn't had taine yet and all our bubbies were little (not the terror toddlers theya re now!) and boy it was sooooo hot!!! they need some good ventilation in that place! Hi Dianna, nice to see you back We were hoping to arrange a Palmy get-together but everyone seemed to get sick at the same time so there will be one organised for January.
As for Hayley's Christmas present... I'm sure something will come to you closer to the time. I wouldn't worry if not, you'll have plenty of opportunities to spoil her next Christmas I'm getting Briona (who will be 17mos at Christmas) a pull-along toy, I think she'd like anything that makes a ton of noise but I'll go for something a little quieter than that ------------- |
