Thanks for the new thread OhBaby! It's much better being able to see the Message box....

So guess I will be the first one to continue from the old thread.......

Yaye CarrieMum another BFP!!!!! I hope you and Twinkle have started off a chain of BFPs' and mine is to follow next week!! ]8D]

Twinkle I am 8DPO today. I had cramps during the day yesterday and maybe real faint ones today.... has to be too early for AF, but REALLY feels like she is on her way

Twinkle do you mean your test got darker? Or did it actually get lighter?

Hi guys, yay Twinkle Rose and Carriemum! It must be catching because the one month I didn't write in the tww i got a BFP, really had just about given up and what do you know. Due around May 29, Twinkle and Carrie you guys might be June not May?

Thank you all for your support over the last year or so and I have my positive shades on for more BFPs Smile

Im glad we've started a new thread now. That other one was so annoying!

Well I've had my blood test (took her 3 attempts, ouch!) so just waiting til about 4pm when I can ring the Dr to get the result. My BFP was really faint but I am CD30 & AF was due today so its super early anyway. I really hope its a sticky bubba, at my age (37) miscarriage is a real threat so I'll keep everything crossed.

Congrats to you Mumma2one, yes my EDD comes out at 6th June.

FX for you too Storm.

How are you going Twinklerose? I think I remember with my DS having very faint urine pg tests for quite a few days. That's why I always do a blood test.

ETA: Well my blood test just came back positive so its official!

Hi there, So I am feeling a bit confused. I have always been super regular. The first time we tried for a baby I conceived straight away and we only did it 3 times over the ovulation period. I always seem to ovulate bang on. But since the miscarriage, I am not sure anymore. I got my AF 32 days after the miscarriage, which I have heard is normal, I am due to start trying on Monday through to the next Sunday. However, my AF only lasted 3 days (usually lasts 7), and I am having pains and other things like I am ovulating at the moment. I am wondering if even though my AF was a bit late, maybe I am still ovulating at the right time? How will I know? I don't really want to miss the window for another month.

Congrats CarrieMum and Mumma2one!!! Wow that's three of us now!!! This must be a lucky streak! Hope others get theirs soon too. Thanks for the reassurance Dunson

Storm, that sounds promising! I started getting cramps around 6DPO! Then just started feeling really under the weather and achy. Let us know how you go And yes my PG test got a tiny bit lighter this morning. I'm going to do one everyday to see if it gets any darker. I'm going to see my doctor next week. Do you think that's too soon? I remember she told me to see her as soon as I found out I was PG because there is a long wait list for midwives.

Morning ladies!

So I woke up this morning needing to vomit big time and just feeling really sick! So I POAS and I wish I hadn't...... very faint second line appeared within just a few minutes and I know a line is a line but now I'm sooooo nervous that the outcome will be the same as the last 2 times I got a faint line, an that's that it didn't really get darker and a week
later I was bleeding so I'm trying to be positive that my test is positive but really worried at the same time.
Maybe at 9DPO today it's just really early for a darker line??is it even possible? lol I wouldn't even be 4 weeks! Good thing I have 3 more tests in the bathroom

Wow Storm that's very exciting! But how awful for you what happened that last 2 times. I sure hope this line is darker each morning for you. 9dpo is very early but maybe your pg tests are super sensitive? My pg tests aren't because I only got a very faint line the day AF was due!

Twinklerose I think you should go and see your Dr asap. I saw mine yesterday! I will be ringing a midwife on Monday to book in. I know the popular ones book out really fast.

AFM I had a much darker line this morning so that's good. I've decided to wait until 8 weeks to tell my friends as apparently the risk of miscarriage is worst between 6-8 weeks. I sure hope I get a sticky bubba.

All the best to everyone else testing soon!

Yay Storm!!!!! I really hope your BFP is what it is So now that's four of us! Anyone else yet to test?

POAS this morning had a slightly darker line but still not as dark as the control. I'm going to make a dr appointment as soon as I can next week CarrieMum, thanks for the advice!

Thanks ladies. I've decided to take the positive road and take it for what is it - a BFP!!! I'm sure it will get darker and am thinking that if my test is picking up HcG at 9DPO then maybe into because there is lots of it and this is going to be a sticky one!!! Have actually been feeling really sick all day and headachy and so so tired that I am about to have a nap while DD is napping lol and I even felt very nauseous earlier when DH brought home some McBites from McDonalds... The smell did not go down well! I actually feel a little crazy with all this so early on.... But I'm taking it as a good sign

Kumeroa - yaye for the +ve OPK - keep that BD'ing up as OV will happen anywhere in the next 2 days

Twinkle and Carrie Good idea getting onto Doc and MW early. I am going to call mine on Monday to hopefully get domes bloods done

Tan73 are you charting at all? Taking temp or OPK's? Might be useful if your cycles are a little different after mc?

Twinklerose my line this morning was still only about half as dark as the control line but darker than yesterday so that's the main thing. I might buy one of those clearblue digital pg tests to keep as a momento as this will be our last child.

Yay Storm what a great positive attitude and I agree if you have a faint line at 9dpo then it must be a sticky and strong one! Im also having some tiredness and headaches but my DH thinks its all in my head! How rude!

We had a lovely day today out in the sun feeding the ducks at the lake and then a picnic lunch. I hope you're all having a lovely weekend too.

Haha Carrie, my DH wasn't too convinced when I showed him the test this morning, I had to explain to him a line is a line LOL

It's all still a bit out there for me, putting it into my FF on my iPhone, it tells me I'm 3 weeks 2 days - it kinda shouldn't even be real lol Hence why I'm still in the TWW hahaha

Storm11, CarrieMum and Twinklerose - congratulations! Praying for stickies for all of you. I remember begin unsure about the faint line when I did my pg test but I just trusted it was what it was. My midwife didn't even want me to go and get another done with her or anything. She said if there were 2 lines on the stick, that was good enough for her, no matter how faint. And I was pg!

Storm11 - I don't know anything about charting. Is there something on here I can use? Last time we were TTC I took my temp, but it turned out to be unnecessary as we got pg straight away. I remember being a bit disappointed as I really wanted to see a pattern over the next few months! LOL I might have to take more notice this time round.

Still super stoked about all the BFP's going on here!!
I'm annoyed, still haven't ov'd!! Massive temp drop today so surely today is the day! Day 24 though and I had isoflavones and stuff from a naturopath to make me ov earlier and I didn't. Grrrr!! DH and I have been BD'ing every day though - was fine till a couple of days ago, now we are both sick of it lol. Hopefully this is it today! Off to Australia next week for a wedding so hopefully that will keep me nice and preoccupied during the TWW!

I really hope this time you get your BFP Epic. Even if you don't OV yet, maybe you will while on holiday. My doctor said that you're more relaxed on holiday and that proved right for me and my DH

I am still getting faint lines in the morning, so STILL waiting for a line as dark as the control. My doctor had me have a blood test today and I will also get one on Wednesday because she said that your hormone levels increase every two days. She also said that I can't have an ultrasound until I am at least 5 weeks pregnant. I guess it's hard to be convinced I am UTD because I haven't had a 'real' confirmation. I really wish I could look inside and see what's going on hehe.

Twinklerose I've also been ordered HCG hormone levels over the next few days as there is some worry that my original level was quite low. Im not too concerned as I know that first blood test was done on the day my period was due so extremely early.

Epic I totally hear you on the sick of BD!!! Yay for a holiday to Australia! Some sun and relaxation will be lovely!

Carrie its not quite so much a holiday, is my sis-in-law's wedding so imagining it will be fairly full on! But I am looking forward to getting away!

So I'm thoroughly confused by my chart. I'm either 1dpo or 6dpo today - if I discard my temp on 3dpo it makes me 6dpo but with a massive drop at 5dpo but otherwise its a humungous drop and rise for ovulation I have played with the chart overlay feature and I can't work out which is most logical that way either. Desperately hoping I'm actually 6dpo as that would make ov so much earlier which is what I'm trying to do. Tummy felt really bloated etc yesterday too which was unusual because I don't usually feel any symptoms of ov at all. Would love some thoughts on this!

Epic- Im not much help with thoughts on OV- like I have posted before I seem to have symptoms all during the 2WW.  FX OV was earlier for you this month :)
AFM- CD32 no idea how many DPO I am - Had lots of "symptoms" from CD18-28ish but now things have settled... cramps have decreased and no sign of AF so who knows whats happening. BFN this morning
Will test again tomorrow but each day its BFN I think its not looking good.. Cycles have been between 32-35 days

Oh Epic that is really frustrating! Nothing worse than late OV! Does FF say whether OV has been detected or not yet?

Sadly for me, my temp dropped yesterday and my HPT was negative, so another chemical pregnancy for me the bleeding has started today which I guess is a good thing. I'm pretty devastated and wish I didn't have to be at work today
I have my doctors appointment on Friday morning that i had booked for my HcG bloods, but now that this is my 3rd chem preg, she should do some tests to see if there is anything specific causing me to have these!

So back onto the Vitex for me today, a wine (or 2 )tonight, and hopefully I will be a bit chirpier tomorrow (and hopefully OV will come early again this month, not that i'm positive about conceiving this month anyway )

Thanks Epic I hope she will run tests, after my last one she said doctors don't until you have a third! We have now been trying for a year and after DD happened straight away i'm beginning to wonder if something is wrong and if we will ever have another If I wasn't feeling so sick on Sat and I didn't test I would totally just be thinking AF was just early... so in a way I'm kind of glad I got a +ve HPT, so that I can go see if anything is wrong.

Well, I feel weird saying this now but I just got a text from my dr and she said bloods are looking good so to go ahead and book a midwife. I also had my first dark-as-the-control-line positive HPT this morning. DH is finally believing it 100% now. We are going to tell both our parents this weekend. I think it will be good to have their support early on in case of a miscarriage or complications. My doctor said there is a small concern that I am quite small (45kg) but didn't really elaborate

Wow I went away for an extended weekend and look what happens while I'm off. 3 BFP's!!!

Storm - so sorry to hear about your chem pregnancy, maybe one good thing to come out of this will be that at least the dr might start taking it seriously and investigating!!! Fingers crossed for some good news for you :D

Blondie - wow 70 days and no ov.... that must be soooo fustrating. After a couple of 2ww and a couple of super long cycles myself (60 days x 2) I don't know which I found worse! The waiting for ov or the 2ww afterwards. Hopefully ov finally reveals itself!

AFM - I will be seeing hubby for the first time in a few months come November so am secretely hoping it might be during the ovulation window so I can once again join you ladies in here. AF is due this weekend and if it arrives on time then I think I will just miss our holiday, but if she is late then I might just hit it on the nose. Either way, I'm sure lots of BD'ing will happen so we will make the most of it

to all

Thanks ladies it really does make me smile knowing you are all here. I feel a little bit better today but still totally gutted. Think it doesn't help that this exact cycle last year was my first chem preg, and if my 2nd chem preg in Jan had stuck I would have a new baby right now although really, i'm trying not to think too much about that as I have my darling daughter that lights up my every day! She is the reason I want another, and I'm sure it will happen soon enough - for all you ladies here too

Twinkle I am so pleased your HPT got darker, you can relax a little now knowing you are off to a good start

Storm - was so excited for you when reading through, and really am so gutted and sorry that you have had to go through that again!
x hugs x
Really hope that they discover what's causing you to have chem pregs and can fix it.

I remember the positive shades - may they live on!! Cool

AFM - roughly 5DPO. Not having high hopes bout this cycle - but I am pleased that I had more EWCM than in recent months, and timed BD quite well I think. So you never know I guess!
WILL NOT test till 14DPO this time (and it's more than likely that I won't make it there anyway) so no wasting tests this month!

I'm going to buy more vitex, etc. As well as OPKs for the coming months. Think we will step it up again in December to try for a Spring baby (like me Wink

Oh Dunson sorry about AF "cheers" to a wine on a Friday then

Rach nice to see you in here (even though I am no longer actually in the TWW)GL with testing - and holding out till 14 DPO Vitex has really helped my cycles so I recommend it.

Had my doc appt, and she is sending me for bloods and also referring me to a specialist so it makes me feel a bit better about this whole TTC thing knowing that it's being looked in to. She had actually been to a conference on infertility 2 weeks ago and has two new things that they can run bloods on. SO I will be giving alot of blood by the sounds of it

Hope you all have a nice Friday

Storm, I am so glad they are getting the ball rolling for you. Hopefully you will have some answers soon. I am so amazed at the things that can be done nowadays to help ladies conceive.

AFM tomorrow is ovulation day according to my dates. I am getting a few sharp twinges, the same as last week and we have been casually BDing it this week. DH doesn't want to get too serious about the BDing right now as it happened so easily the first time. However, I think he might be taking things for granted and that the first conception was just a fluke. I guess we will wait and see. What it does mean is low stress, no pressure, and a happy relationship so that's got to be a good thing.

Hi Rach!! *Waves*

Storm - so good that you have a proactive doctor who is getting things sorted for you!

Good luck Tan - hope this is the month for you!

AFM, CD28, no ov yet. I've had some sharp spikes which I've never had before and a sort of bloated feeling but no actual stable temp rise. Went to see the naturopath this morning and she was disappointed it's taking so long for ov but is sending me for blood tests to check my thyroid in case that is playing a role. I've also just realised that it was two cycles ago that I didn't ov till CD33, so maybe one of my ovaries is just REALLY slow in releasing eggs? I am so sick of all the questions and no answers though!

Hi all, I haven't been on in a few days as we've been flat out organizing my BIL's flights etc. he arrived Tues night (the night before I was due to ovulate) and I sooo wanted to try lol but we want to wait till the end of oct as I have dental work happening on Monday and I'd rather not use an xray-ed, antibiotic'd wee egg. So I am spending the next few weeks continuing to eat well and take all my supplements & get super dooper ready for this next try.
I'm so stoked for all of you with the BFP's! Why a way to start the new thread.
But storm, I'm so sorry to hear your didn't work out. It's great to hear your doctor is finally doing something about it. If you don't like your specialist, then my naturopath is the absolute best and she concentrates solely on fertility / infertility / miscarriage. I've booked in for a special fertility treatment called a lipiodol flush and when I spoke to both the nurses at Auckland gynecology & at Auckland radiology and they asked who had referred me both said that Loula was amazing and that they refer patients to her all the time. So I reckon if the real medical establishment people recommend her she must be really good!
So I look forward to properly being in the TWW with you all in a few weeks!

So still spotting - still waiting for AF to arrive- took a big step for me and have bought some ovulation tests online and have also gone to health store to get some Vitex and B6- I know there are lots of info on this site about this but to save me time does anyone mind upskilling me on how much and when you take the supplements and if I have 35 dayish cycle when should I start doing the OV tests?

Thanks heaps
Sorry will read back over previous posts soon- great to hear all the plans Pepi

Yaye Pepi for having your BIL here and a nice plan in place.

Dunson it took me at least 2 or 3 cycles of vitex and B6 before it finally lowered my cycles from 39/39 days to 33 :-) I take vitex 3x a day from CD1 until OV. only last month I ovd earlier than CD22 though. I go by my EWCM as when to take OPKs as that generally gives me a +ve OPK the same day or within a couple days. Good luck with it :-)

Epic! So Annoyed for you that OV is all over the place, grrrrr why can't this TTC thing be easier!

Gah that damn TWW really sucks. I am 10DPO today and next week can't come fast enough for me. I will try and wait it out though, rather then test. My period should be here anytime between Tuesday and Thursday.

Good luck to all others that are nearly at the end of the TWW Thumbs Up

Aaand the TWW is on! According to my dates I am 1DPO so a bit of a ways to go. Luckily I am on holiday and off to Wellington for a couple of days. Have things booked for the end of the week and then back to work the next week so hoping that time will fly.I am going to try and wait to test until a few days after AF is due (yeah right!) because I'm not sure how regular my cycle will be after M/C and don't want to get my hopes up only to have it arrive a bit late. Anyway, that's my plan for now!

GL with your up coming testing ladies

AFM - def not in the TWW yet, but thought I would let you know some interesting info my doc has told me. She called today to say my form for bloods are ready to pick up as she wanted to get her notes from her fertility conference she has just been to.
So she is now also testing both DH and I for genetic chromosomes.... see if there is something there causing me to MC, and also said there is now strong evidence that caffeine can really cut your chances of conceiving (as I finish the last of my coffee LOL) one cup of "coffee shop" coffee is pretty much the daily limit as most coffee shops have such high caffeine coffee that's it and she recommend that while it's "ok" for one of them a day, that I shouldn't have it daily. Home made coffee (instant/sachets)is different as not as much caffeine (I have one of the sachet coffees a day - think I will even cut that out!)

Also, there is now research to show that if you were to conceive within 3-6 months of giving birth, your chances of MC are higher! There isn't any research to say if the same goes with having a MC then conceiving 3-6 months after, but it's recommended that you do wait, so she has said while her advice has always been, just keep trying, she is now suggesting that I wait! I really don't want to and wonder if that is true cause I had a MC in January and it still took 6 months to get preg again and then another MC anyway but she only said to think about it.
And last of all, asked if I had Coeliac Disease or if anyone in my family has it as that can be a big factor.

Sorry for the long post - now back to Monday work!

Hey everyone,
I feel a little bit bad for hiding this from most of you but.....I got my BFP 2 weeks ago!
I was waiting until my first scan to tell people, and since I know there a people I know in 'real life' here on OH Baby, I didn't quite want to spread the word.
I was so anxious when I got my BFP and all I could think about was going through a miscarriage again, so yeah just nervous to put it out there!
The good news is I feel like absolute crap! Sooo different to the last pregnancy. I will take this morning sickness and tiredness over the stress any day!
I did mention to the scan lady that I never felt sick until 8 weeks with my son so she thinks this one will be a girl! (I'm just over 6 weeks).

I'm sorry you are feeling down tiger_lily. I found it really hard when I didn't get pregnant straight after my miscarriage, but you have to believe there's a reason for timing and enjoy your time with your little girl before number two comes along!

Hi all, I am 5DPO and thought I would be quite casual and relaxed about the whole thing...but I am not! I am reading into every little twinge etc, checking for sore boobs etc. Oh dear! I did not want to feel like this! I have been trying to chart my temp, but it went up and then dropped down for one morning, then went back up and stayed there. I know that this could mean I am PG and this is what happened last time, but maybe I'm not doing it right, or I'm not OV yet after the M/C? Any advice? (other than waiting! LOL)

Tan my thoughts - and definitely from experience - temp drops for one day due to implantation so hope it's a good sign for you?

Can I ask - when did you have MC is this your first cycle after and you are still trying? I only ask cause as I said in my post above - my doc has said there is specific research to show that getting preg so soon after delivering a baby can cause you to MC and she seems to think the same about MC and has said we should think about not trying for 3-6 months!!! Yeah right!
And then, funnily enough I was just reading a story about Tori Spelling who had heaps of difficulties with her last pregnancy, like Placenta Previa most likely due to getting pregnant a month after having her baby!! (which is just crazy LOL) and I just thought that was interesting LOL

Storm - thanks for that. I didn't know about the implantation thing so fxd! I did read your post about the research and I found it very interesting but I balked a bit at the waiting part - mainly because I am 39, and don't want to wait any longer. I have given up caffeine though! I had my MC on August 21. I have had one AF 32 days later and my doc told me to count 9 days from the first day of AF and try for the week. We have done that and now the wait is on!

Tan I don't blame you - I don't think we will wait either as there is no evidence to show the after affects of MC and I'm pretty sure your body is completely different after carrying a baby for 9 months then giving birth - compared to being pregnant for a short time and having a MC, so I don't think we will wait 3-6 months. Someone said to me, that it would be perfect cause then I can enjoy summer... I could do that if I was pregnant! LOL

Well, my temp has been up and stayed up for 10 days now. I am 8DPO and I got a little impatient...Yes I POAS - the early detection ones, and BFN Silly me, I should wait patiently! I can't believe how impatient I have been really. I have no other symptoms and I know it's way too early anyway. I guess that's why they call it the agonising TWW. And it's only my first cycle! What am I going to be like after a few more??? Feeling so silly right now. The lesson here is to be patient!

Oh tiger that sucks

AFM, just back from a week in Melbourne for the SIL's wedding. To whoever asked, I chart so that's how I know I didn't ov - normally its very distinctive but last month nothing. And Storm - agreed - must be our turn soon!

Blondie, have you thought about taking vitex to bring on your AF? I had a crazy long cycle when I came off the pill and I took that and AF came a week later - worth a shot!

I just emailed Otago Fertility Services to ask about the process for getting an appointment - don't know if its faster to go privately and how much that costs? I want to get on clomid though so the sooner the better! I got the results of thyroid testing through the naturopath and that was fine, next thing she wants to do is send me for zinc and DHEA. And I have a pelvic ultrasound at the hospital next week too, so its all go!! Yay!! Have another wedding this weekend and after that am going to really focus on being fit and healthy - I'm pretty fit anyway but need to eat a bit better so am going on a no-alcohol month and will try cut down my sugar too. Surely all of these things will eventually yield some results!

So I'm now 12DPO. Temp is still high and sustained. I'm surprised every morning when it is. I keep expecting it to go down. I have been totally crazy, and have tested 3 times already - obviously all BFN. I know it's possibly too early but I used First Response and they are meant to pick up HCG hormones from 5 days before AF. So I think I have managed to convince myself that even though my temp is high, and has stayed high, I have no other symptoms and the tests are all neg so I'm not pg. I am looking forward to another month of trying and charting, which I find really fascinating. I am also looking forward to another month of being able to exercise, get fit and healthy, and lose some more weight. AF dues Sat. Will test Sunday if no AF.

Looking forward to the next round of trying as I feel I know more now about what my body is going to do and when. I guess the only problem is I'm away with the in-laws and we have some things planned but so far all I have wanted to do is lie on the couch! Welcome Mrs Impatient for the record I love your user name!

Epic - did you get a reply from OFS? I'm in Otago, I could ask a couple of people I know that have been through them if you like?

Oh Tan I'm sorry about AF, you seem to have a very positive outlook, I hope you've enjoyed your weekend. I'm always making up symptoms that I must be UTD when really I'm just PMSing, try really hard not get my hopes up.

I'm now CD14 and had +ve OPK's for last 2 days, I'm hoping for a -ve this afternoon so that I know that I have actually (theorically) OV'd.
I'm starting to get a bit paranoid that do I actually OV each month ... there are bloods that you can request is that right to check that OV has actually occured?

Bring on the 2WW, FX for a BFP this month, it would be just in time for our wedding anniversary and although I want this far more than DH at the moment, I think it would be a great double celebration

Hope you've all enjoyed a lovely long weekend, take care and **baby dust**

Welcome emily!!

Pepi, will be stalking you like a mad thing! And Tiger, awesome that you got your -OPK, you're officially in the TWW!

AFM, just rang OFS (to whoever mentioned FA, we don't have them in Dunedin - shame, as their website is excellent!). Receptionist was seriously rude, not the friendly welcome you want to hear!! Fee is $250 which I'm happy to pay and we have an appointment for January 14th! So just under three months, the wait is about 6 months on the public list apparently so I'm happy to get in this way and then hope for public funding. Seething ove the receptionists attitude though, she was a cow!!

PS Tigerlily, are you in Dunedin as well?

Thanks for all the good wishes ladies! I just had my lipoidol flush treatment which was okay, not fun but the doctor said it went very well, so here's hoping it helps.

Welcome Emily. I've heard of a number of women on here who didn't get a BFP show up for weeks even though they were pregnant. Fingers crossed for you.

Kumeroa, I'm with you on yay for short cycles!

DH decided to go to sleep when he got home last night, damn it

Hopefully that was a one off with rude behaviour, if you get that service again from her I'd be writing a complaint, there is no need for that kind of behaviour, Grrrr

Yep, Dunedin here, aren't you loving the weather?! The cat is driving us nuts being stuck inside
