Hi there, I'm 37 weeks pregnant and had my first meeting with my back-up midwife this week. After having lost 2 litres of blood post-partum haemorrhaging with my DS, she said I may have to birth at North Shore Hospital, instead of Waitakere. My normal midwife doesn't seem too worried.

I birthed at Auckland hospital last time, but have chosen a midwife that only works from Waitamata DHB hospitals.

Now I am freaked out as the back-up said there may not be an Obstetrician available if I haemorrhage at Waitakere! What are you suppose to do if that happens?!?

I am now really anxious and nervous, and live closer to Waitakere, and have had no reason to plan on going anywhere different to deliver.

Which hospital would you recommend?
