For those of us who may not be gifted in the sewing department, or don't own a sewing machine, a Christmas doily hanging is a pretty and easy craft to make with your little one(s). It is simple to make and takes just about the right amount of time before they lose interest and end up leaving you to finish the craft by yourself :)
We simply bought two packs of doily drink place mats from Typo - though you can pick doilys up from variety discount stores as well, or you could colour your own peices of paper, or buy coloured paper and make into Christmas shapes e.g. silver stars, green trees, red candy canes etc and thread through some pretty ribbon or string.
If you have a place where you know you would like this to hang then it's best to measure the width of the wall it will be hanging on and buy the ribbon or string they will hang from to fit the space. Then make sure that you have enough doilys to fit this space as well.
Simply snip a hole, use a hole punch, or thread ribbon through holes already in the doily.
To hang you could use 3M temporary hooks that will come off without damaging your walls after Christmas.
Enjoy and Merry Christmas!
