Hi Everyone,
My husband and I have been trying to start a family for years and our fertility specialist said that we need to go down the 'egg donor' path.
Our big challenge now is to find that special someone to help us create our family. We have no idea where to start looking for this special someone but we thought maybe this forum might be a good place to start so here we are.
Our fertility specialist is in Hamilton so an egg donor in that area would be fantastic. If you know of anyone that might be willing to help us please let me know.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post

Who used donor sperm?
Lovely ladies, the topic is very delicate, and I'm in this complete zero. I wanted to know if someone was using donor sperm? How does this procedure take place and what is the probability of a positive result? With men, I did not work out, but I really want a child. It would be interesting to know your stories. And I will also be grateful for the recommendations on the clinic, in which you can do it.

Hello! Insemination with donor sperm is a simple, effective way to fertilize a patient with a high quality supplementary donor ejaculate. This method is the closest to natural conception. In this case, the probability of fertilization with the donor's sperm, which has undergone a complete medical examination, is higher than when using the husband's seed. Since only men become donors, whose spermogram has characteristics higher than the established norm.Artificial insemination is used in the absence of spermatozoa in the partner's body, if a man has hereditary diseases, the HIV virus and other pathologies that make it impossible or insecure to inseminate his partner with his own sperm. Artificial insemination is also shown to single women. The use of donor sperm is possible both in the stimulated cycle and in the cycle without additional stimulation of ovulation. Manipulation is carried out by means of a special catheter, which is inserted into the uterus, cervix, vagina. Insemination with donor ejaculate is prescribed to infertile couples and single women when the patient has no serious problems in the reproductive system. And the problem lies either in the impossibility of delivering spermatozoa to the egg by natural conception, either in a bad spermogram, or in the absence of a sexual partner. In 87% of infertile women, pregnancy occurs as a result of the first 3 attempts at insemination by the donor's ejaculate. Then the efficiency percentage drops sharply to 6% per attempt. Therefore, in the presence of 2-3 unsuccessful attempts of insemination with donor sperm, it is more expedient to do IVF. Insemination is unlikely to help such women, especially if patients over 35 years of age and time for low-impact attempts to conceive a child are not so many. The most effective among all types of insemination (intrauterine, intramural, intracavitary, intrafocalicular, etc.) is intrauterine insemination of a qualitative, repeatedly verified sperm donor. When drafting the contract, pay attention to the number of agreed attempts, the cost of the donor's ejaculate (sperm can be bought in another clinic), the prices of medicines (they can also be purchased independently in pharmacies at a lower price). Artificial insemination is carried out only if the future parents (or single mother) have signed (a) a statement that they (she) undertake to fulfill their parental rights and obligations to the child. A woman herself or herself looks at the file of donors and chooses or fills out the questionnaire, indicating the preferred phenotypic signs, and the clinic is selected the right candidate. You will be asked what is the most important characteristic for you: blood type, eye color, height? In the card file, the following data must necessarily be indicated: blood type, age, nationality, education, occupation, height, weight, hair color, color and incision, nose, forehead, face, presence of children. You asked advice about the clinic. we applied to biotexcom in Kiev. There was not so expensive as in our country. Good clinic, everyone did it professionally enough. The decision to use donor sperm can be a serious test for each of the spouses. It is important to understand your feelings and honestly assess your readiness for this step. It happens that the grandmothers and grandfathers of the future baby perceive the situation extremely painfully, "do not recognize" the grandson. This factor should also be taken into account and ready for any, even negative, reaction from relatives. In addition, the success of IVF procedure largely depends on the psychological readiness of the spouses for parenting, since the psychosomatic block is able to prevent successful conception. Therefore, before making a final decision, it is advisable to seek advice from a psychotherapist. In some sperm banks, some donors are open. This does not impose any legal obligations on the donor and does not give rights, but it means that the child has the opportunity, after reaching adulthood, to find his biological father. I hope I helped you to cover this issue in more detail.

Unfortunately, many couples are forced to use donor eggs. There are a number of serious reasons for this. However, do not worry, because an exceptionally healthy young woman can become a donor. It follows that a conceived child will be healthy. In addition, your child will have the genes of your spouse, which is important. I could advise contacting Ukrainian clinics. There the cost of this service is less. In addition, they have a large donor base.

Your doctor tells you that you need an egg donor. First of all, take a deep breath. This is bound to be one of the biggest decisions you are going to make in your life, and it can feel very overwhelming. Because this news can be so mind-boggling, give yourself time to wrap your mind around egg donation, what it means, and the steps it will take to complete an egg donor cycle from start to finish. Remember that no matter which egg donor you select, a DE child will be one you and your partner create and give life to. The child will be exclusive and special to your own family, and he or she wouldn’t be coming into this world if not for the love that you have to give. It is also important to focus on the fact that you are going to love, honor, and cherish this child regardless of eye color, hair color, height, or other physical characteristics. First, you need to decide if you want to select an anonymous donor or a known donor. For some parents it’s important to make a personal connection with their egg donor. They may want to select a donor who will be willing to meet their child one day in the future. Others choose the anonymous donor route, not wanting to know anything other than what a profile states about their donor. An egg donor you do not meet, selected with the help of a clinic. You do not know her name or anything else about her that is not stated on her profile. You may or may not see a photo of the donor. The donor would know nothing about the intended parents or the cycle other than how many eggs were retrieved, and in some instances, whether or not a pregnancy resulted.

I agree with Amanda, it seems to me that it is preferable to choose an anonymous donor. Of course, some couples decide to use the eggs of one of their friends. However, a familiar donor will provide big problems in the future. Firstly, not every one of your friends will want to share her eggs, as this is a big responsibility. And secondly, in the future she may want to communicate with the child. Therefore, you cannot feel that this child is yours. After all, his real mother will be walking nearby ..

I did not need donor eggs, but at the clinic where I was ( https://www.mother-surrogate.com/" rel="nofollow - Feskov clinic ) I met a couple from Germany who needed an egg donor. The husband and wife were both tall and large with blond hair. So at the clinic, they were matched with a donor based on their phenotype, which was a perfect match for their family. The baby ended up looking just like them, no one would have thought the eggs were donor eggs.
