During the month of July, for every packet of Little Angels Pure Baby food sold, Little Angels will donate a packet of food to the Little Sprouts Charity, a charity that gives free, life-changing packs full of quality essential items to babies in real need.
It's so important that infants and toddlers get the nutrition they need during the winter months, says Heather Baker, owner and product developer of Little Angels.
“With so many families struggling in New Zealand our most vulnerable are often missing out on the quality nutritious food they need, to stay healthy.”
Little Angels’ goal was to make healthy, beautiful tasting baby food that every New Zealand parent could feed their babies, says Heather.
“We’ve mostly achieved that, except for the 'every parent' bit. The reality is, that New Zealand is an expensive place to manufacture, and we are constantly torn between only wanting to support suppliers who provide us organic, sustainable, quality ingredients and needing
things at a reasonable price so that everyone can afford to buy our products. Because of the decisions we made on quality and ingredients, we know there are lots of families who sadly can't afford it.”
As a way of giving back, and to recognise the dreams the company had from the beginning, Little Angels will donate one pack of its baby food to the Little Sprouts charity for every pack sold in July.
Little Sprouts creates packs for babies to ensure they are kept warm, safe and healthy, these are distributed through existing organisations that are helping families. This includes the Salvation Army, Women’s Refuge, the House of Grace home for pregnant teens, Barnados, the NeoNatal Trust, Red Cross Refugee Services, the Family Start programmes, Naku Enei Tamariki Inc and Birthright.
