1yo still wont stand or crawl

My plunket nurse told me that if babies wont put any weight on their legs/feet by about 10 months- with you holding them up- then you need to get them checked out to make sure they dont have any problems with their hips

She's had her hips checked twice now. Once at 6 months and again as a follow up about a month ago and all was normal. The reason they checked her hips was because of the fact she had a extra fold on her left thigh.
Isla is really good at getting around the place by rolling. She can sit up from lying, and can go from sitting to hands and knees but then she just gets straight onto her tummy and rolls.
Plunket did tell me that babies can only learn one thing at a time and she is quite advanced in other things that babies her age don't normally learn till after they learn to crawl.walk etc so maybe she is just doing things back to front.
It's just so disheartening when people ask how old she is and when I tell them they say 'oh she will be crawling/walking all over the place now wont she!?' and when I say no they are like 'oh, really, she should be by now, is there something wrong with her?'

DD didn't commando crawl until 13 months, standing at about 16 months, walking at 18. Make the most of keeping her in the one place
She's over 2 now and you can't tell she started later than most.

There is a baby in my coffee group who sounds very similar. She is 13 months, and a very good bum shuffler but no sign of standing or crawling. She is one of the more verbal babies in the group though. I doubt its anything to worry about. Enjoy having a baby as long as you can

I think they just do it when they are ready, DD started crawling at 7 months, but our neighbour's DD didnt start till 15 months, and has started walking in the last could of weeks (close to about 18months I think). There is no way I have encouraged/wanted her to crawl early, and shes already standing and taking a couple of steps, with no encouragement from me. When Isla is ready you wont be able to stop her!

I hate those silly nosey people who just have to comment! We had that when Hunter was younger and was a bit of a chubster so looked older than he was, and people would act soooo surprised that he wasnt walking! Im not sure exactly why they feel as though they are the experts on child development?!

And like you said, Isla is pretty clever and advanced in other areas. And shes pretty darn cute too

Thanks foor all your input ladies, have mentioned it to Plunket and GP but always seem to get fobbed off and take their advice with a grain of salt.... they also told me that she didn't need milk anymore at 8 months when she started refusing it (apparently it has no nutritional value - wtf?!), so these days, I prefer advice from other mums, who actually care So thanks ladies for making me feel better. I'll see how she is going in a month. She is moving forward in leaps and bounds in every other aspect...... I think she'd be dangerous if she could walk as well as being as clever as she is! lol So I guess I should be thankful huh!

My DD was exactly the same. Didn't crawl till 13 months and didn't walk till 17 months but could count to 10 by 23 months, speak in sentences by 24 months and now at 27 months can count past 20. I think my DD had more interesting things to work out than crawling and walking

And the people who ask? Lie, thats what I do! I have a shocking sleeper, but I can never be bothered hearing all the advice, so I smile and tell people he sleeps really well!!
