Author: busymum
Subject: 10170
Posted: 23 October 2007 at 8:58pm

*bump*
I've decided that I'm going to the doc at the next ovulation time. In August the Ov pains lasted a week, gradually accelerating cramps/pain over those days until on O day we BD and something hurt really suddenly and I yelled and clutched my abdo (really spoilt the mood lol!) but then was fine afterwards.

In September and October, I've had the same thing. Cramps building up over 5 days (both months), then really horrible pain (the panadol level) on O day, and nothing on the next day again. Fortunately no popping or stabbing or whatever happened in August, but whatever it is has certainly not gone away.

So what do I need to watch for the next 3 weeks before I see the Doc? What's he going to ask me? I've been checking out Ov pains and endo symptoms and what I've got is:

* 5+ days of pre-O cramps/pain in every month since June (when my AF came back after Kryssi)
* c/s scar
* bloating during those days and just before AF
* When I have pre-O cramps, if my bladder gets full it puts pressure on something in there which is really uncomfy (doesn't happen any other time)
* Bowel motions seem fairly normal, just a little soft when I have cramps but nothing major (they have always been like that around AF time, so I guess it's just normal)
* Only happens at those two times of month, mostly at pre-O (my AF is nothing to panadol about)
* It won't be ectopic cause it's been for so long and my weight and size is stable (actually I just lost 2kg this month WOOHOO!)
* I don't really feel pain/soreness on one side or the other during pre-O cramps. Just the whole lot is. But sometimes I'll feel the right side a little for the next couple of days (only sore, not painful)
* I don't have pain with intercourse except if in the 48 hours up to O day. TMI coming up... Usually the intercourse itself is fine but anything manual rubs against something that hurts.
* Periods are regular, and not heavy
* No fatigue to speak of
* No painful peeing
* No lower back pain
* No nausea/vomitting

I'm going to aim to see the Doctor in the 48 hours pre-O in November. So have one more AF to pass in that time. Is there anything I need to look out for in particular? (I always get a curly question from the doctor and think, ummm I actually hadn't noticed! lol)

Thanks all - if you're not asleep yet - I'm particularly interested in feedback from those of you who have had ovarian cysts/endo/etc.

Edited by busymum

I did point this out to my Dr (who has had 4 kids of her own) and she told me that it is completely normal to be more sensitive down below after birth. I never had regular AF's or knew when I was O'ing at all and now I get much clearer signals.
I think that if you are genuinely worried about the amount of discomfort that you are in then a visit to the Dr is definitely in order.
All the best honey.

Like others have said they have had Ov pains come on after having bubs too. Once spoken to the Dr you will have a better idea of whats going on or he may send you for more investigate to see whats the haps. Until then I wouldnt stress too much girl.

I've had about 4 cycles since Kryssi was born and with every one of them I have been bloated, crampy, and generally sore in that region at ovulation time. I don't think I've ever had Ov pains before ; this is what I would have expected at AF time usually, but the weird thing is that my periods aren't really hurting, only Ov?!? Any ideas?
