All your ligaments relax during pregnancy so your joints move more - it is esp panful in pelvis, low back and hips from changes in posture and weight, and those joints dont normally have much movement. It is usually worst at your stage and again at the end. I found that I had painful pelvis and hips (especially worse with a physical job) early on and a sacroiliac belt helped a little to hold everything together. But by about 16 weeks or so it had settled down. If its still quite painful see if you can get a referral to an obstetric physio from your midwife.

Oops, didnt mean to ramble on for so long - maybe I'm missing work!

Edited by aimeejoy

My doc said that it's very common to have slight irritations to the uterus in the first trimester and it's best to get them checked out sooner rather than later if they don't settle down.

It always pays to check.
