I've gone almost nutty when it comes to trying to bring on labour. We having been doing it morning noon and night but it's still not working. We tell 'tiny Maya' stories about when she was a baby, and she loves watching 'Tiny Maya' videos of her as a baby too. I have told her that tiny Maya was in Mama's tummy but I don't think she really gets it.

ha ha caleb says he made mummys stripes.. ROFL, Believe me, the first 4 weeks at least I was so exhausted by the time I got to bed it was the last thing on my mind!!

Joey slept in our room until he was 5 weeks old and we only moved him because he got to big for his carry cot. I think you will know what to do when you get home with bubs. Everyone is different.
We have had Joey sleeping in our bed the past 3 nights because of the scares we have had in the past few days. But he is back into his room tonight! You just have to do what feels right for you as far as your room or its own room. I was positive that we were going to have Alex in our room for about 6 months but once he was at home it was not ideal hence why he ended up in his own room.
In saying that, he wasn't in his room every night, when he was going through growth spurts & teething he wouldn't sleep unless he was in with us & we had him in bed with us. My doctor said as long as I was comfortable doing that then it was fine because I'm not a smoker, and Alex always slept on my side.
As for "relations" (as Roksana so nicely put it! ) well we were back into that after a couple of weeks.
We have done it when Alex was there in the room but most of the time tried to avoid it. It was really weird having our son in the room while doing the deed. You can also buy safe T sleep (to prevent cot death)and they are pretty good I hear. If you go to their site they have a video demo of the product....

I think I wouldnt feel very comfortable having as they say "relations" (he he ha ha) while baby is in the room....But as I said I want her in her own room from day one.

as for sex, the baby honestly won't care or notice, but it is a little off-putting. baby watching won't hurt them, but may make things a little uncomfortable for you!!

Honestly in the first month(at least) it was the last thing on my mind (sex) because I was getting used to midnight 4am wake up calls and also post-partum bleeding.I remember the first time after I had Xander I was sooooo sscared cos I had to have stitches and my perinium had swollen majorly during his birth,that I think I kinda just lay there thinking God I hope I dont tear lol.

I sleep in "Hannah's" room and it is driving me nuts.
It was great for the first couple of months because I could just grab her when she woke in the morning and feed her.
Now however it sucks. If I'm too noisy going to bed then I wake her (only happens once every couple of months) but most of all it is bad during the day time as I can't put washing away etc which I usually fold while she is asleep. (altho usually I don't even get that far!!) by the time she wakes up I forget about the washing and next thing she is pulling it all out of the basket.

Right. Whole lotta rambling. That has absolutely nothing to do with your question sorry!!!!

We had paris in with us till she was 7 months old - simply because i kept pushing the date back and back that i would move her - i liked the idea that she was close to me and apparently it does help the bonding process.. and as Maria said baby may wake more often for feeds - helping breastfeeding, lol or hindering your sleep - whichever way you see it. Hospitals use it as a way to facilitate the bonding process and help breastfeeding but i think it is probably most important in those first few days and weeks and once things have settled into a nice pattern then i see no reason that it would make any difference where baby is.. for most it's because it's easier to heat one room only instead of two - others do it for reassurance that baby's fine. Some babys sleep more soundly with mum near, or some just wake constantly because parents might be noisy sleepers.   Ayja will be in with us for possibly longer than Paris simply because there is no room in paris's bedroom to put a cot and we aren't moving any time soon - unless a gorgeous cheap bigger house becomes available (lolol, do they even exist?) I think at least until Ayja is sleeping reasonable hours through the night consistantly she will stay in our room - one child to deal with in the middle of the night is more than enough for me. i certainly don't need Ayja waking up paris or vice versa

I had Xander in with us for about the first 3-4 mnths due to him being a winter baby,i moved him when he started sleeping thru the night.

harmony was also a winter baby so she roomed in with us till she strated sleeping thru also,around 3mnths old.

Do wot u feel comftable doing and good luck.

I only had Alex in our room for a week or two and the only reason was so I didn't have to go far to feed him at night. After that I put him in his own room because I found that I was waking up to every little noise he made even though he wasn't waking up. So off he went so I could get proper sleep. jack slept in a bassinet next to me until he was about 12wks. he was always a good sleeper and only woke for feeds every 4hrs. from 6wks he was sleeping right through, but he was such a tiny baby i didn't feel comfortable putting him in a cot. when he did go into his cot, there were no probs.

Maya shared a room with me out of neccesity when she was tiny (we didn't have a spare room) but when I moved when she was 5 mths she went into her own room without any probs. we had to share a room with jake as our apartment only had one bedroom. Because of ...well, ican't remember now, e moved our bed into the lounge when jake was about 6 months old. he didn't sleep through the night til then. i honestly think we were waking him up!! Everyone / everywhere does it diffrently. I agree with Angelnz - do it how you feel best with. In Sweden the baby stays with Mum and Dad in the same room up to 1 year - Swedish Friends of mine tell me thats it works out just fine..goodness knows you had better not be loud love makers!!!

I think its just for ease. I never roomed in with either of mine apart from in hospital. Dont think they are emotionally scarred and i didnt like all the snuffles etc babies make. I value my sleep, and am just one of those people that think that if babies are in the same room as mum they can smell your milk and wake up more often for feeds. Both my girls slept through from an early age (except i had to wake jayde for feeds at night for a long time, as it was the only way i could get her to feed). Anyway thats why I didnt room in. But each to their own. Do whatever you feel comfortable with. I've heard people talking about rooming in with the new bubs but I'm not really sure why or what advantages it has other than not having to walk so far for those many night feeds. I slept with Chloe in my room for the first 4months and I found it hard emotionally when I finally had to move her into her own room.
