Plunket told me it is a normal stage of development - their recall memory is beginning to develop and they begin to understand that if they cry, you respond.

We got thru it by using controlled crying. The first night she screamed for 2 1/2 hours, the second just over an hour and the third night she slept thru.

I know controlled crying isn't for everyone and we found it really difficult (I had Plunketline on the phone the whole time to stop me going in and picking her up lol), but it did work for us.

Also helped because she couldn't stand up in her cot.

May be worth a try?

Sometimes if Han doesn't sleep I rub her belly until she calms down. Maybe finding a soothing motion that your babe will respond to and you can phase that out as she gets better at going to sleep.

Good luck!

A big thing was to separate sleeping and b/feeding so it was suggested that she b/feed then story/quiet time then bed. If they won't settle by themselves you put a chair by their bed and then they know you are there still. Can't really remember all the stuff in it, but well worth a read.
However, 7 months isn't really all that late to be sleeping through. ANgie was 15months or so before she was sleeping through as well.
