You can just get a mouthguard to put in at night if you are a tooth grinder. (much cheaper than getting a special one made at the dentist)

Han grinds her teeth when she is teething but stops when she isn't. It drives me nuts!
I think if he only does it for a short time (a couple of weeks) then his teeth should be fine. They are baby teeth too, which fall out anyway. Caleb has a habit of grinding his teeth when he is asleep and has done it for over year now and just recently been to the dentist and they are fine..
