I'd definately talk about it with your mw to get some reassurance. My friend recently went into early labour at 22 weeks. They have since said it was due to IC (having had pre-cancerous cells removed several years ago). She has been told that if she gets pregnant again, she'll have to have a stitch put in. I too am one that has had a number of colposcopies and have gone on to have no issues with pregnancy. So long as you LMC knows you'll be fine.

I have a good friend who had an incompetant cervix with a previous pregnancy, her m/w mentioned after a scan that something was funny and they did nothing, she lost her twins at 26 weeks. She is now pregnant again, and they can check on a normal scan for incompetant cervix (as far as I know) and stitch it closed until later in pregnancy. The other thing to focus on Kaww is that in just a few weeks your wee baby will be viable so even if he/she is born early the prognosis is reasonably good. My mum had 3 out 4 babies prem, possibly as a result of IC or possibly as she had quite severe endo, with the youngest her waters broke at 27 weeks but they managed to keep him in (she was in hospital the whole time )till 37 weeks when he was delivered by c-sect and this is 20 years ago. busy yeah it seems they are very intent on so much medical intervention ...i don't get it..you should see the arguement about vaccinations at the moment on the site...far out..! Lots of hot topics...

If it helps I have a similar story to yours and have carried both my children to term with no problems. I had a missed miscarriage (baby died at 8+2 and I found at at 12 weeks) so had a D and C. Went on to have DD who was born at 41 weeks (weighing 3970grams!). I then had a colposcopy and laser therapy on my cervix when DD was 5 months old. 11 months later I had DS at 39 weeks (weighing 3760grams!). No-one seemed overly concerned about my history with my pregnancy with my son.

Good luck with your pregnancy and try to not to worry (easier said than done).

Don't stress yourself out to much over things like this, if someone who has cared for you was even slightly worried about this they would have said something. I was reading about incompetent cervix (IC) and got myself all worried..

I had a colposcopy (cells burnt off) when I was 22 (30 now) and a DandC after they found bubs had died in FEb. Doc did say they didn't think i had a weak cervix as bubs hadn't come out etc.. and i didn't find out for 5 weeks..but i have read these two things(and lots of others) make you more at risk for IC..I know only 1-2% of people have it..

But do you guys have any thoughts on it? I haven't had any internals this pregnancy... just 3 scans...and m/w has never mentioned it... I guess now I'm nearly 18 weeks I'm just worried a little bit? any advice?
