Elle didn't sleep through until 7.5 / 8 months but hasn't need us once in the night since...thats 7.5 months and not one disturbance

(she does sometimes wake and chat but never cries out to us. She get's night terrors but that is usually at 8.30pm and she generally settles back. Jake still wakes alot and C wakes once. She slept through from about 2 weeks tillabout 4 months when teeth started moving etc.

Don't want to rain on your parade, ladies, but don't panic or feel like you have done something wrong if bubs starts night waking around 5 months as there are, apart from teeth, lots of developmental things going on with babies which means some of them stop sleeping through....

Sam initially had a routine that was 9pm, 12am and 4am when she was little, but then dropped the 12 and then the 4 until she was sleeping through. Unfortunatley it all turned to custard at 5 months when she started waking at 3am again. I don't feed her at 3am though. Just give her the dummy and let her go back to sleep (except for last night when she decided it was play time!grrr!).

Tayla was ratbag when she was in hospital for a week, but when we came home she was angel......

Spencer was sleeping through but has now stopped, apparently that can happen at around the 5 month mark according to plunket.

I think peachy, just carry on doing what your doing and she will slowly stretch the time out that she can go. Try to make those night feeds quick and boring and in a few weeks I would stop doing nappy changes at night as well. Kylah sleeps through and has done for proberly 3 weeks, she does 7.30pm till 7amish and then up for 1.5 hours and back to bed for 2 hours, uo for 2 hours bed for prob 2 hours and its like that till 7.30pm when she goes down for the night. Just thinking ahead, any tips to help or encourage bubs to sleep through or atleast longer to eventually end up sleeping through all night?

At the moment Lauren goes down at about 9 or 10pm and wakes around 1am-ish, then at around 4am-ish. I realise this is fairly good and she settles pretty much straight away.

Just kind of hoping that it continues like this and she starts sleeping longer and longer!!

Bailey was an abslolute dream baby! he slept from 6pm till 6am from 2 days old then at 4 weeks old it went from 9pm till 9am and has stayed the same since and he is now 3.5 yrs!! he also loved his day sleeps and still does!!

Astin did 3 wakes a night for the first 2-3 weeks then it went to 9pm-3am for a few weeks then 9pm-5am for another few weeks and now he is doing 9pm-7am for the past few weeks but his day sleeps are a bit all over the place! some days he will sleep all day and others he will be awake all day!

Ella is 12 weeks tomorrow and has just started sleeping through most of the night. Last night slept from 7 to 6 then had a quick feed and then was back down again for another 2 1/2 hours. She used to sleep for 7-8 hours during the day (split between 3 sleeps), but since she has started sleeping longer at night is only sleeping for 1 hr at a time during the day- but she is generally very happy and chatty when she wakes, so I am not too worried.

Maya was a dream baby, slept thru 12 hours a night from 7 weeks, didn't sleep much during the day but was happy and settled an easy to amuse.

Sam started sleeping through at 6-7 weeks and would consistently do 8+ hours a night but after his three month jabs he started waking at least twice a night. I mean, he wasn't actually waking up, but he would cry and not be able to settle unless I went into his room and settled him back down again. Last night he didn't wake so I am hoping that continues again.

Krystiana slept through a couple of times at 6 weeks but it didn't continue. She's a hungry bubba and it wasn't until this last month (so around 7mos) that she has been sleeping through every night. Although in saying that, she woke at 5am today (for a feed) but that's alright considering she went down at about 7pm

My other girls didn't sleep through until I had fully weaned them but I suspect it might have been a habit because the same day I weaned them, they slept right through - both of them. I know what you mean about the pressure but this has just happened - it was funny as the first night I woke up way before her and thought "she is still asleep" - I know one of my friends forced it to happen re sleeping but I have not as when I brought her home I thought I will just feed her when she wants it but just so happens she sleeps allot -

Yeah I don't mind getting up once a night, I can cope with that. Plus he is only small for his age so we cut him some slack, his belly is only small and is not suprising that he can't go all night. Just hope he isn't reverting to 3 hourly feeds during the night as that only stopped a couple of weeks ago and I have been enjoying not being a zombie.

My princess slept through the night for the first time last night! Yay! She is almost 11 months old!

Although there is a lot of pressure from society to have a baby that sleeps through from a very early age, its not actually the norm, and it doesnt mean u are doing anything wrong. Hang in there cuppatea. But yay for you Shelley, hope it lasts for you!

Hi, my baby is 13 weeks old and has never slept through not even once, and for the last 3 nights has taken to waking at 2am then 5am then 6.30am. I'm so hoping this is the 3 month growth spurt as we have only just got out of 3 hourly feeds during the night and I don't think I could face going back to that. He also doesn't sleep very well in the day, will go down for 45mins then wake up grumpy.

Having said that we do have lots of happy smily time together, he isn't a big talker instead he just laughs at everything we say to him.

Morning

Would like to know when your baby slept through the night as I have a 10 week old girl and for the last week she has gone through the night - she goes down somewhere between 8.00 - 9.00 and does not wake until 5.30 - 5.45 - THIS IS FANTASTIC -

She sleeps through the day as well and wonder if anyone else has dream babies like this..

Also she tries so hard to talk back to us, when she is awake she stays awake for approx 2 hours and then goes back to sleep and in that time we talk and talk to her and she tries so hard to talk back. it is so lovely to watch as my husband spends ages talking to her
