Bump! Wee Cort is one!

I just thought I would update you all again seeing as you all followed wee Cort's journey so closely.

The girls and I went to his first birthday yesterday, it was understandably a bit of an emotional occasion, but a really nice afternoon and I feel so blessed to have been able to share it with Lisa and her family. I totally agree that is so sad and how awful that one family has to go through so much, but I don't think it is waht God want's for anyone either.

Another update, Lisa had her surgery on Wednesday and they are reasonably sure they got all the cancer which is a good thing. At this stage she's in hospital til Monday, depending on how things go over the weekend. She's very grateful for everyones thoughts and prayers, so please keep them up!

Hey Everyone, just thought I would update this for anyone who has been following Lisa and wee Cort's journey.
Cort is doing awesome and is being trialled off cpap. He is gaining well and getting cuter by the day!
Sadly Lisa has yet another challenge to face, she has been diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer and is going in to have her breast and lymph glands removed in 9 days time.

He only comes off CPAP when he is being cleaned, suctioned, sticky stuff to hold prongs in place changed etc. But when on CPAP is on room air so not needing oxygen which is great. Although he needs O2 when he has major desats (oxygen saturation levels drop). I know! I mean, Cort looks tiny in the pictures, but in real life he is just so, so tiny! We had a wee giggle coz I bought him a teddy bear hoodie from Patch and I usually buy the Patch teddy bear stuff for Maya's fussy bubba, and Cort is about the same size as her fussy. Oh and he has more hair than both the baldy gremlins combined!

Glad you finally got to meet them Emma. Isn't he tiny! Its almost impossible to know how small until you see him. And Lisa is doing great too, she's such an awesome person! Thanks everyone for your prayers, I went to meet Lisa and wee Cort today and as Kelly said he is doing amazingly well, even the doctors are surprised by how well he is doing and he is putting on lots and lots of weight. He is so, so tiny and so precious, it's hard to comprehend, I feel so privileged to have been allowed to meet him.

Cort is doing amazingly well    He is on CPAP still (and I think still on oxygen but thats cool) and as of last night was taking full feeds - the most amount of milk he can have for his weight - which is 9 mls every 2 hours! He had a brain scan earlier this week which has come back all clear and Lisa has started having kangaroo cuddles. Just got this update off little t for any one who is following this amazing journey:

Hey all just another update here

They are trialing Cort on cpap and so far so good, Lisa says hes totally blowing them away with amazement (not to mention everyone else Lis hehe) He is under the bilil lights at the mo for jaundice but doing so blardy well.
Lisa had a few issues with some meds for herself today but has since sorted it out and doing good.
Ian stoked to have a boy :D and Kita is doing great.

Its so awesome to hear everyone in that family are so happy for once.
May the awesome news continue to flow i say

Oh and Lisa says that Cort has already got himself quite a selection of soft toys, i joked that maybe she needs to request an incubator just for them hahaha

Awww Emma, it was nice of you to start this thread, I'm sure Lisa would definatley appreciate it    I was going to go visit Lisa yesterday as I was in Auckland but I'm still down with the flu so didn't think it was a good idea. Lisa is such a strong woman and a wonderful mother and I truly truly hope Cort is a fighter like Laine was and there is a happy ending for them. Lisa had her baby boy at 5.33pm, he weighs just 695g, nearly 200g smaller than his big sister Laine was. Could you send a couple up for a lady I know through The Lost Ones, she and the other ladies there were a brilliant support to me when I lost our wee angel and during my pregnancy with the gremlins. She is mummy to two angels, one passed away at a few hours old because of prematurity and the other passed away from SIDS at 6 mths (KH25 knows her as her wee babe was in NICU with Ashleigh), she is now 24 weeks pregnant and has been admitted to hospital and the doctors think her wee babe will be here within a few days as her waters are leaking and she had her previous babies very early.

So any prayers that anyone can muster up that her wee one will stay put for a few more weeks would be greatly appreciated!

ETA: Of course, I'm already praying for her, I just thought a few more can't hurt
