As soon as she stirred slightly I got her up with dimmed lights, fed with dimmed lights and I did change her after her feed as I could smell really wet nappies.

She didn't even wake, she had a great feed too to my surprise. Not sure why she didn't wake she normally would, but then I normally wait for her to start whimpering before getting her up, but this time I was being sneaky!

This is why I am thinking I might be able to get away with it. I pick Spencer up, shove the bottle in his face and he drinks still fast asleep then I stick him straight back to bed, no burp no nappy change. He will take practically a whole feed. So he is fed at 6.30pm in bed by 7pm, then dream fed at 10.30pm then makes it through till about 4am then back down till about 7am. If I don't dream feed him he wakes up at 11pm anyway but will then only sleep till about 2am because his sleep has been disturbed. If you only have to get up at 1.30 and then not again till 6.30 I would be inclined to not worry about it.

I know a few people who let bubs sleep and demand-feed at night (one girl of 3 months is now sleeping 12 hours), but personally I wake Laura at 10.30ish, and DH usually gives her a bottle of EBM. We try not to wake her up too much - just enough so that she can suck (and no nappy change unless shes pooed). It's basically 'tanking her up' so that she can sleep for longer. She has been sleeping through since about six weeks - but then every baby is different!
FOr some babies this works, some it doesn't - but give it three nights in a row to see if it is going to work for you. I would only wake Ashleigh if she was due for a feed not long after I was going to go to bed. ie she would feed around 7.30 so be due 10.30 and I would want to go to bed at 9.30ish. But they didn't really work for us anyway as she wouldn't wake up and drink properly and normally slept a bit longer then anyway.
