It's another thing to tick off the list. Good luck with the appointment with FA tomorrow. Maybe they'll suggest a laparoscopy next?

The move went ok. I felt so happy for her and her husband. I really struggled while she was pregnant. It was quite awful - I felt jealous and resentful (as well as sad) and then felt really guilty for feeling that way which made me feel even worse. hang in there TF - it will be our turn soon! Only a few more days until your HSG though.
Lovely news about your best friend. Glad you're happy for her and looking forward to visiting. I'm struggling with that side of things at the moment. I was at a wedding in Feb and there were 4 of us ttc and the other 3 are now pregnant. Another 3 have been announced in the last week too. It's so difficult.
We get the keys to our new house tomorrow though so that'll keep me busy. Can't wait!
Have a great weekend everyone.

FX for this cycle.

Mumma2be - hope this cycle goes a bit more smoothly. It is so frustrating when things don't do what they are meant to.

I'm a bit frustrated - spotting started again today. It is so annoying not knowing why it happens and knowing that my chances are so much lower because of it. On a more positive note, one of my best friends had her first baby last night. I felt quite sad last night and I felt really bad about it - I don't want to be sad, I want to be happy for her. But today I feel much better and do feel totally and genuinely stoked for her. Looking forward to going for a visit in the weekend.

Hope you have all had a good week. Yay its friday tomorrow :)

Clomid last month, then Clomid and Prog this month so im hoping that helps increase the LP at least!
I had the bloods 1-2dpo and it was 42, going back on Wed to see whats its doing and if Prog is doing its job, you start wondering if it will ever happen some days but then you just keep going :-)

That's great that your chart is looking amazing. I love how positive and excited you are too. Very inspirational :-) When are you going to test? I can't wait to find out :-)

Kerny - Sorry to hear you're not hopeful this month. Hopefully your HSG will go ahead next cycle and you'll get some answers. It's the lack of answers I find most difficult. My bloods and scans are always great, DH's SA was all fine, HSG showed nothing wrong with tubes, lap showed only very mild endo but not on ovaries or tubes, just a little bit on uterus so shouldn't affect anything, I'm healthy weight, eat well and exercise and here I am 2 1/2 years later and still no BFP. The fact that you have some spotting suggests something is a bit out of balance so hopefully they'll find out and be able to fix it. It's better than just not knowing.

I had progesterone test today and it was 99.1 (6dpo). Bit lower than last month but still pretty good. Just waiting and waiting now.

Shame on that doctor for laughing at you when you had concerns but great that you have such an awesome OBGYN now. How many cycles did you have on clomid before you got your BFP the first time round?
As for progesterone levels, 220 seems pretty high. You'd have to have ovulated a few eggs to have that. 55 is fine for 7dpo - I've had a reading of 75 before.
Mumma2be - The follicles grow at around 2mm a day apparently and at ovulation any that are over about 22mm are likely to release eggs so all three may well have released eggs. The ruptured follicles produce the progesterone so the more mature follicles you have the higher the progesterone level will be. Last month my level was 111 6dpo when I had 2 decent follicles.
Sorry, I do a lot of reading on this :-)
I'd love twins too even though they'd be so much work but I'm 37 and I figure that if everything had been working properly at the start we'd probably be on our second baby by now. So, I think I deserve two for waiting so long :-)

It's good to have you here for inspiration though knowing that you got your little girl after much stress and clomid. My problem is that my moods are very cyclic. I feel positive and think about all the things I can control and focus on them for the first couple of weeks, then in the 2WW it all goes downhill and I start to feel rubbish and cry and it's obviously even worse when AF arrives. After that it starts all over again. No matter how much I tell myself not to be like that I can't seem to stop it. I blame the hormones ;-)

Trying a new philosophy - I've been feeling a bit down lately but I've decided that I just need to accept that I can't control when I get pregnant but I can control other things and I should focus on those (like eating healthy, exercising, hanging out with DH). Hopefully it will work! Have had a couple of awkward teary moments the last few days so I'm hoping that this will help me with those.

I was trying to think of something helpful to say before responding but unfortunately I've got nothing. I'm crap at making decisions for myself so not any good at that sort of thing at all. Sounds like you've sorted it out now anyway so that's good. As far as progesterone goes, according to the fertility associates site a reading of 3-30 shows that you probably ovulated less than 5 days ago (or more than 10) so if it's in that range they should be able to tell from that.

Good sized follicles Mumma2be. I had a trigger shot a couple of months ago because I got to day 15 with still no surge even though my follicles would have been huge and everything else looked good. I always think it's better to ov on your own though as the eggs are more likely to be ready to be released instead of forcing them when they might not be quite ready. If you ov fine on your own I don't think I'd bother with the trigger. Sounds like things are going fine. I can't advise with cost I'm afraid as I don't pay for my treatment.

BUT if i wait it still might take ages and ages and i might regret waiting so long? so aargh im very torn right now! someone, decide for me! lol

HUGS to everyone else who needs them aswell, and fingers crossed for some BFPs this month! :D

I've noticed that I definitely have good weeks and bad weeks depending on where I am in my cycle. I don't know if it's exaggerated on Clomid. I have nothing to report really. Follicle scan coming up on Friday. Planning lots of distractions this month too :-)

kerny - I think you did the right thing with the baby shower. If you weren't up to it you shouldn't force yourself. Glad you had a nice time with your friend the night before. I was relaxed when we first starting trying and it didn't happen! So I don't think relaxing is (or was) the answer!

Mumma2be - I've had 5 rounds of clomid. I think that once I've had my HSG (which won't happen until next cycle now) the Dr might start me on some other drugs. I think it depends on what the HSG shows. I might still lurk on this forum though - there always seems to be a really good group of girls on it.

TF - I'm sorry you've had an emotional week too. I feel exactly the same way - everything seems to be happening as it should but still not getting the outcome. I find it hard to focus on other things too but I try to look forward to whatever good things I've got coming up in the week. Little things like acupuncture or catching up with a friend.

I decided not to go to the baby shower today. I feel a bit sad about it but I think it was the right decision. SO annoyed tho- hubby is in the military and is being sent away for survival training from next tuesday to friday! thats day 16 to 19 of my cycle darn it! so kind of hoping for a later or earlier ov.. or this will have been a waste of a cycle! grrr...

It would make sense for them to check for your LH surge then so they know when you ov and can start taking them. Hopefully they'll do that.

I have told quite a few people what we're going through because it's been going on for 2 1/2yrs now and I can't be bothered keeping it a secret (plus it's quite difficult when I break down every time someone tells me they're pregnant. At least if they know they tend to be tactful about it). I don't get too many inappropriate questions though as most people wait until I bring it up. If it annoys you Mumma2be you can always give them far too much info about exact days, what your mucous is like and how much bd'ing you're doing and that'll soon shut them up and stop them asking ;-)

Kerny - I went to a baby shower last month and was worried about the same thing. Maybe just wait and see how you feel on the day. You may feel able to cope at the time or you may not so don't force yourself to go if you can't face it. Does your friend know what you're going through? If so, she'll understand. If you do go and then feel a bit upset just try to stay composed, make your excuses and leave or hide in the bathroom for a bit until it passes (which I usually try to do at work!) Do you have other good friends going? If you're in a little group it's easier to distract yourself from your own situation and get caught up more in your friend's happiness(and then have a good cry when you get home) Hope this helps a bit.

Did you have any other blood tests earlier in cycle? I have a scan on day 11 and then they test estradiol and LH every day until I get an LH surge. I should then ov around 36hrs later. Maybe you could ask if they would test for that to give you a better idea of when you ov? I'm pretty sure progesterone rises slowly after ov, peaks and then goes back down slowly rather than surging straight after.

Good luck not being on clomid this month kerny. Hope it goes well for you.

Soda, glad to hear things are sounding promising (even though it does mean a bit of pain). I took clomid days 5-9 on my first two cycles then 2-6 on this one and it didn't make any difference to anything so I don't think it matters.

I've not had a good few days. BFN on Saturday and then AF arrived this morning. Have actually come home from work as I keep crying (pathetic, I know, but at least I have an understanding boss). I had 21 day test but that doesnt tell me what day i ovulated so my question is does progesterone slowly rise or does it take a jump straight after ovulation?

It's the frustration more than anything isn't it. We always seem to be waiting for other people to get things moving. You have every right to be grumpy. I hope you get your HSG sorted soon. That might be all you need to "flush things out". I had one last year. My first one didn't go ahead because they couldn't fit me in on the right day. They didn't find anything wrong and I had to have a lap a few months later (which ended up being a bit of a disaster really).

My specialist suggested implantation bleeding too and I'm now symptom-watching like a maniac. Trying not to get hopes up though as we've been trying for almost 2 1/2yrs and we've had nothing at all. Had a good meeting though. She's happy for me to stay on the clomid for a few more months before moving on to IUI so we'll see how it goes.

If the dreaded AF does arrive for you tomorrow have a lovely glass of wine at the weekend. I had a whole bottle when mine arrived last month. Take care

    Author: ThistleFern
Subject: 10938
Posted: 16 July 2012 at 1:28pm

Hi there,
I just wanted to introduce myself really as I've been following things on here for a little while and it looks like a good place for some support.
I've been TTC #1 since Feb 2010 and after all the usual tests I'm in the unexplained category. I'm currently on my third cycle of clomid (100mg) but have been told that if it doesn't work this month we'll have to move onto IUI until we qualify for IVF (Jan 2013). I'm 37 so I'm aware that time is running out a bit.

Anyway, I'm cd 18 today and should have ovulated at the weekend so trying to busy myself for the next two weeks.

Mumma2be - I also had two follicles at my scan of 18mm and 15mm on day 11 so quite similar to you. Your results all sound pretty good. Are you just waiting for your day 21 bloods next? You do end up feeling like a pin cushion after a while. Hope your stay is a short one.

Hope everyone else is well and congrats to all of you who got your long-awaited BFPs recently. You give hope to us all :-)
