i had a LLL lady come and see me when jack was little and it was free. i think she came the day after i rang..

We had a miraculous improvement on his latching on overnight, so I might leave the lactation consultant to another time unless things go pear shaped again.

If u are in Auck, try ringing different family centres to see if u can get in sooner. When I was in desperate need of help, I went up t Auck to stay with mum and dad, and I rang 4 centres and got into the north shore one in a few days, even tho my parents are in east auck, and I dont even live in auck. How much does it cost to get help from La Leche? How available are they usually? I tried getting to my Plunket family centre for BF help, but they can't see me until Friday next week (5th Oct) and I really would like help sooner than that Cost is an issue though.
