Well DS was fairly small (6 lb 10 oz) and not my first child so I felt up to it much sooner than with DD (about six weeks I think). We used plenty of lubricant and took it easy. It was fine because it was gentle. cmaine, if you are worried about it it is definately not time to do it yet. I can't quite remember how long it was for us. I bled for 8 weeks plus our baby was in hospital so nooky was the LAST thing on my mind!!! I can't even remember if we did it before we brought her home (11 weeks) or not! my ex partner father of my newborn son has been trying to get back in my good graces and wants to try and make a go of being a couple again,
most of my pregnancy he wasnt around or back and forward now he can't go a day without seeing his son,he cryed one day after i told him he had to leave.
now he was over friday night and had a couple with my brother and really wanted to do it,i can't bring myself to having sex although he is the love of my life and i can picture marrying him sometime in the future..this whole sex topic after giving birth really freaks me out..lol..

After my 1st I was sooo sore but as soon as I got home 4days after birth the bio father(my ex) forced me to and SH*T DID IT HURT!!!!
After my second DH and I waited about two weeks I think, just until the bleeding stopped, I wasn't sore at all, he was more worried about hurting me than I was!

I actually really cant remember at all. I know I bled for 6 weeks and after that my freaking period showed up after a week. So at least a minumum of 8 weeks. But we moved when she was like 7 weeks old. And I cant remember the first month of anything in the new place. As his sister was there and then my dad. So I think this is close to freaking 12 weeks. Poor hubby. About 7 weeks or so with #1, and it HURT like holy shed (lotsa grazing still not healed) and hurt for about 7 months or so sfter and about 5 weeks with #2, bleeding stopped about 2 weeks after and I wasn't sore at all after about a week, but I had tonnes more stitches and I was waaaaaaaay too tired to even think about it. my step-mums sis did it in the hospital and ended preggers with number 4 I think (whenever i go over there are so many kids, i have no idea whose are whose).

for us, i really really don't remember. i think Lew had to wait til we got back to japan with Jake - so at least six weeks

I think it ended up being about being about 6 weeks after the first what with the stiches and the bleeding....eww not going there with the bleeding.

We waited just under 3 weeks, but I had a very normal delivery no stitches or anything.

LOL I was day 5 after my first CS.... DH was desperate and I took some pain killers first

With the other 2 we waited a couple of weeks I think. My m/w wrote us a script for condoms in week 2 as i was like whats the point i'm not having sex again......ever......... but in the end we did it at week 5. Not sure about the whole 6 week thing, my gp didn't even mention anything about sex at the checkup. I was very bruised from c/s and took me a while before I was comfortable so before 5 weeks wouldn't really have been physically possible for me.
I think really it just comes down to when you feel comfortable doing it and when you have enough energy.

With my first baby it was a few week (3 I think). However with Josh it was a lot longer as I just didn't feel like it.

As the others said it is different with everyone and whatever you are comfortable with go with it.

I think it comes down to when you are comfortable again. Hi i was just reading some of the comments and thats what i heard that you had to wait till after the 6week check,i also asked my midwife that today and she said they used to say 6weeks but its up to the couple and when the women feels comfortable enough,i never had any stitches but had a normal delivery,with regards to the 6week check she also said that if you have sex before the 6weeks its ok becouse then they would be able to tell that everything is working properly and that there is no problems..

Nothing's rude to ask on here cause we'll only answer if we want to!

Usually there is a recommendation to wait for 6 weeks but this is only advised (vs recommended) in situations such as c/s I think. Really it just comes down to when you are ready. And that seems to depend on mojo and stitches It has been 4-8 weeks for us. I was far more ready after the c/s than the V stitches

Hi

me and my best friend who had her baby about 3weeks ago and my son only be born 1week ago today are in a friendly battle to see who's right and also other womans stories..

we basically want to know how long you are suposed to wait after you have a baby to have SEX?
I heard it was 6weeks so your body has time to go back to normal,and theres the risk of getting pregnant again also..my best friend didnt even wait a week before her and her partner were back at it....

i also spoke to my midwife today but she sez that i could have sex right now if i wanted its more about a comfort thing..{women and there bodys}..
