I would say as it is so close to what you name is already thats what it wouldn't change.

I had the same problem ages ago until I discovered that I was going into the wrong 'profile' (sometimes I do VERY blonde things!)

Anyway...which profile are you going into? It's the one beside 'logout' that you can change your name in, not the one beside 'Private messenger'
