The couple of times I have felt it, it was in my right side too GandT... and only once in the middle of my tummy... definitely not the sciatic nerve (although apparently sciatica is common in pregnancy too, would probably feel similar I imagine) *shrug*

Just for fun, it's also more commonly known as sciatica - can be rather startling! I posted in the feb thread too, but thought I would post again here for the other ladies reading!

This has happened to me a few times... feels just like an electric shock! I told my midwife and she said that it's just when the baby kicks and manages to hit a nerve. Which is pretty much what it feels like!! Lol. I've only felt the kick WITH the electric shock feeling once tho... but I guess we don't feel all the kicks (well I know I don't because sometimes my midwife hears them on the doppler when I can't feel our baby girl moving).

Anyways... it's nothing to worry about, usually if you move (and it's hard not to when it feels like a shock) then the baby won't kick the same place twice. Yep I have had that a few times on my left side. I thought it was just from me bending to the side too fast and pulling something inside. I've had this happen. Its a really sharp jolt thats makes you stand up and think "ow what was that". I've never known what it is and as it hasn't happened often and only happens the once at a time I've never bothered to even think about it.

something strange happened to me the other night...i was home alone (apart from the kids who were asleep) when i heard a bang, it was toby falling out of bed. so i went in and picked him up and put him back but as i was bending over i got this little jolt in the side...it felt like maybe a kick but also felt like an electric shock? then when i put my hand on it while tucking toby in it happened again and it def felt more like an electric shock... this was on fri night and nothing since.
