I'm a believer of the slowly, slowly does it. If you loose big amounts too quickly you'll just end up putting it all back on.

I've upped the walking (something that is actually fun with a new born anyway!), upped the water intake and I'm watching my snacks. I could live in the fridge and pantry if I let myself!!!

I still had my cake on Wednesday at coffee group. If I deny myself I end up giving up anyway.

Now, saying all that, it was my 30th on the weekend and I ate like a queen!!!!

I agree with you liz, i am the worst for snacking, if it's int he cupboard, i eat it.. hence why i don't like to buy much - although i must say i convinced mike to cut out the choccy bickies form the shopping list - we get superwines and gingernuts which i am not a fan of really in large proportions. It's just getting that motivation back - like you said Teresa.. its the time and effort to make things really (and yep, we only have a tiny freezer on the fridge)

We tend to be good around the beginning of the fortnight after shopping as theres plenty of salads and wraps which is wha ti usually do, yummy salad rolls etc, just gets a bit sparse after that, might have to do a fruit and vege shop weekly maybe.

Edited by mum2paris

I'm not doing mine for weight loss, as I'm preggy, but just for general health and in order to break the sugar addiction. However, a good friend of mine (who started me on it) has lost 3.5kgs in the past 9 days just from cutting out all added sugar.

I could go on and on and on... but... There are so many overweight nurses at work. I found I put on quite a bit of weight when I started work as there always seems to be morning teas for people leaving etc etc and the cafe is always just there as well.

I have lost 10kgs twice at WW - once before I got married, then after I had Hannah. Plan to do the same again after this one. It has only ever taken me about 4 months to lose that much and both times have lost 5kg in the first month. Just by doing exercise most days (all I did was walk) and cutting back on portions and naughty foods, it fell off. I love WW as going to the meetings and weighing in really kept me focused and bcause you can eat anything, its more of a lifestyle change so easy to maintain afterwards.

Good luck

Of course then you'll have to keep Mike away from them hehe but it does make it easier to snack healthy. Things like cheese and pineapple, and carrot/vege sticks for example. They are yummy but often the "bother" is the reason for not having them.

Packed lunches etc are heaps nicer (I have found) with shaved deli meat in them. Buy it from anywhere except Pak n Save LOL. If you have some handy you may be happy to eat that instead of a heat n eat - if you are hungry for sustenance but not for a full meal.

Otherwise the next thing is to cook double meals. Two at a time so that one goes in the freezer. Great for mince etc dishes. Yesterday I made up two potato top mince pies and put them in the freezer for a rainy day (which is just as well because DH now has his finger all bandaged up after nearly losing the tip of it to the garage door this morning!!) The trouble with freezer meals is small freezers - I can't remember if you have a chest freezer or not.

And all of that aside, I checked out your BMI and 55-60 looks fine (and is lighter than me)

I lost 5kgs doing weight training through a personal trainer at a gym that took 12 weeks, but in all fairness I only put in a proper effort when the trainer was there to push me so probably could have lost it quicker with a bit more motivation.
I didn't really enjoy the gym environment so now I prefer to just take my dogs out walking/jogging and am just careful about what I eat........ I say with a box of empty guylian chocs sitting next to the computer But hey you have to have a treat now and then.

I jumped on the scales at mums today, the same scales i have always used to weigh myself so i know they are the same as always. And found that in the last year i have gained 10 kilos. again as i said, no biggy for some, I knew i'd gained a couple.. but 10??!! 10 kilos.

Right, as i sit here with a few lines of caramello choccy in front of me i have decided my original weight is more desirable and am embarking on an effort to get back there - for me it's really not so much about the weight side.. it's more about the wobbles that come with it - that and i ordered my dress to exactly fit my orginal weight - a few kilos here and there would be fine but am scared to even try it right now cos i know it won't fit.

For those who have/are loosing weight... how much have you lost, how long did it take, and what did you do?
