We took Elle when she was very young...can't remember when as she was always an unsettled baby. The first time I didn't notice any change but we went back a few months later and there was a dramatic change. Up until 7mths old or so she had her fists clenched, tilted her head to the side and was miserable. After a few consults she stopped clenching her fists, her head tilt came right and she was happier. It wasn't a cure-all by any means but it definately did help.

Some babies are definately transformed by it.

i can't rave enough about cranial osteopaths, they helped mikey so much. if i have another baby i would definitely take them even if there was nothing obviously wrong. apparently they can help for a whole range of things like colic, not settling, reflux etc.

We too went. We took Cooper when he was 6 days old! Then every 2 weeks for 4 sessions.

He LOVED it!! He would be so relaxed during and after it. I intially went for the stress and trauma from birth. And also after his 6 week jabs.

Sorry haven't read everyones post we took James when he was four weeks old and it was fantastic for a week he was only sleeping for an hour day and at night he might of stretched it out for 2

We had to go 3 times each time he improved the first time he started sleeping for 4 hours again during the day and about 5 at night at he was a lot more settled the second time he was even more settled and started sleeping about 7 hours and the last visit he was back to how he was and started to sleep though the night.

We went to an osteopath when Daniel was about 2 months old. I'm probably one of the only people to say this but it was a waste of time and money! Didn't do a thing. Yes that is exactly why we took Spencer, he would slump to the right and always have his head turned that way. Was probably to do with him being breech and very squished as my waters broke 3 weeks before he was born. I also had trouble feeding him on the righthand side but overcome that by using rugby hold.
We took him to Happy Spine which is by Westfields.


Cool we might try that. When I feed on the left he wants to lie on his back and turn his head rather than have his tummy to mine. It is bloody annoying and like I said that nipple always hurts. I'm thinking of this also as Tom seems to prefer turning his head to one side and this makes feeding on one side difficult and I wonder if thats why I have one nipple that is constantly sore. He also is getting a flat head and movingg him around the bed makes no difference as he just turns back later. He hated a wedge and it looked bloody uncomfy.

I know a good Osteo out West where my own clinic is based, Waitakere Osteopathic Centre, Lincoln Road. Don't really like chiros personally and they don't usually do cranial work.

If you can't find an osteopath then try a chiropractor instead, they can also help with constipation and being unsettled. We didn't see a cranial osteopath but we did take Spencer to a chiropractor from 2 weeks of age. Ask your midwife if their is one she would recommend. I don't know about osteopaths but I know that not all chiropractors treat children so is best to find a good one that does.

My midwife has suggested taking Oliver to a Cranial Osteopath to see if that will help with his constipation and his unsettle-ness. Has anyone else done this - specifically on such a little baby? Would love to hear thoughts / opinions or any recomendations for Auckland Osteo's. Thanks
