My dad is picking up the alcohol bill - Mum will prob just put money towards dress / give us money for honeymoon or something.
Davids mum and dad put $3000 each towards SIL's wedding and his dad said that he will give us some money but not expecting anything from the IL side.

That's something I'm not looking forward to at the wedding - I DONT DRINK WINE!! I can't stand it, or beer. I am a RTD / Vodka girl and don't think the in-laws will approve of it as it won't be up to their "traditional" standard.

Screw it - Just clicked we having the wedding on the farm in a marquee and our "main" is spitroasts!! Haha How traditional are we? And I'm hiring / borrowing a dress for the ceremony and then going to buy "my" style of dress for the reception that I can dance in and be me!!

I completely agree Lissel. you see so many couples regretting their weddings, not the marriage itself but that they were so worried about the day itself, they forgot to have agood time. We want to have a relaxed day where we spend time with family and friends and have fun....so it would be nice to have a drink. I bought some clothes off a website called Mamma To Be - the tops are stretchy mesh ones so are perfect for summer. I also bought a skirt and 3/4 pants which are so comfortable. I had some pants from JK that were really comfy til I was about 7 months then they didnt fit around the bump anymore (the adjustable waistband bit didnt go big enough!). Ended up buying BIG 3/4s from warehouse and wearing hubbys tshirts - I didnt really care anymore by that stage! I got given about 15 tops from one of my neighbours which was awesome - unfortunately she was preggars through winter so most of them will be too hot for Auckland in summer, but there are a couple of really cute t-shirts which I am already loving to wear! One says Mind the Bump, the other says Baby on Board!! So cute! i was so happy to be able to show off a rounded belly for a change when i was preggers. now i'm back to trying to hide it!

Its better to get one or two maternity bottoms of some sort (pants, skirt, 3/4ers, etc.) because they are made to fit all the 'non-pregnant' parts properly. Stuff that's just a couple of sizes too big will be too big everywhere.

Ooo... another thing is to ask around friends with babes if they have any maternity clothes you could borrow.

I borrowed a couple of EGG tops from my Mum's friend. A bit big for me but soooooo comfortable.

I have just lent out most of my maternity stuff to one of my friends as well. I hated having to buy large sizes of normal clothes because they just made me feel(and look) fat rather than pregnant and I didn't want to spend too much money on clothes that will only last a few months. Anyway I ended up finding some nice modern looking maternity clothes at k-mart and the warehouse and they were really cheap, $15 for tops and $20 for pants. I'd say to go for a nice pair of black pants if you are going to invest in something. Will do for any occasion.

As it's coming into summer skirts are probably a brilliant idea. there r nice skirts for $30 at glassons that have a stretchy waist. I just went shopping the other weekend for some maternity clothes. JK Had nice jeans and pants. The Jeans just have an adjustable stretchy waistband and are really comfortable. As are the pants. Coulden't find any tops though. I got my "maternity" clothes from Glassons, Jay Jays and Ezibuy.

I got these pants with the fold over thing at the top. They are real comfy and if they fit you now (like when you go and buy them, the stretchy top bit grows with you!! - I got mine from Glassons but found out that they are back in fashion and ONLINE! at Ezibuy
Real cheap too.

Most places have their products online so have a look around online then get advice from friends (and us!) about the best places to get preggas clothes from!!

I know what you mean! It's so depressing not being able to fit anything & not finding anything you like!!!! I bought some denim shorts from the Pumpkin Patch outlet store which looked fine when you first put them on but turned out to be the most bloody uncomfortable things I've ever worn. I think it was the way they fastened. I went into Egg on the weekend & their stuff is really nice, but so expensive. I ended up going to one of the normal Pumpkin Patch stores & bought a few things there. Got a really cool Kaftan top which I've had heaps of comments on & also a couple of pairs of pants which have been surprisingly comfortable. I tried on some pants in JK but found they didn't really fit properly. I would say definitely invest in one great fitting pair of pants (jeans whatever) because when you are wearing something every day it's good if it fits right!! I've found a few nice things at ezibuy...not maternity tops but stuff that i think could be fine for the enlarging tum. I'm off shopping tomorrow to fins something ncie for my step-mums birthday and xmas! overnight I SWEAR I cant fit any of my clothes, like OVERNIGHT! I went shopping the other day to try and find some nice maternity clothes but oh there were NONE! Some maternity wear is just so hideous i cant beLIEVE it! why do we have to look frumpy and yuck just coz we're preggers? The stuff i really like is from EGG and way too out of my budget so its off to fabric vision today and im just gunna have to make some! a friend of mine lent me a skirt that im gunna try take a pattern off,,, shhhhhhhh!
