The trip will include Auckland, Paihia, Routoroua, Lake Taopu, Napier, Wellington, Nelson, Kaikoura and then a roundtrip of the South Island in a campervan.

Check out http://www.babyonthemove.co.nz/. They hire baby gear for pretty reasonable prices. I would send them an email and I am sure they could help you.

As for cell phones. NZ has 2 options telecom or vodafone and both have prepaid. There websites are www.telecom.co.nz and www.vodafone.co.nz Their websites are a bit confusing but I am sure you can find some information or maybe a "contact us" link.

TradeMe This is NZs version of Ebay- you should be able to find a SIM card on there relatively easily. You should be able to find the other things you are looking for on here too.

Most motels should have cots but it would pay to contact each motel and book them since you will be visiting over summer and they are more likely to be busy.

Hello NZ!

We are a family of four from Sweden that will visit NZ during February and March. I have a few practical issues that I hope you friendly people could help me out with. Our oldest daughter will be 3 years and our youngest only 7 months. We will be traveling both North and South Island by car. First of all I would like to know if you could advise if there are any good online shops where we can buy a stroller and have it shipped to our first stop? Are there any online sites for buying used baby equipment? Do most hotels and motels provide cots our do we need to bring our own?

I have tried to search for prepaid cellular phone cards including internet access but have not managed to find anything useful. Can anyone recommend where to look?
