Actually, i saw the chick that plays Tania, and Ben Mitchell in town once, out clubbing, and i was looking at them (ok,staring) cos i didnt know where i knew them from, then i realised and went, "ahhh! your on shortland street!" and they looked at me really weird,so i just winked and waved and turned back to dancing with my friends-just cos your'e on tv matey,doesnt mean your better than anyone else!

I used to be really good friends with an ex-all black. I remember a couple of times going out to the movies with him and some other friends and him missing the first 15mins of the film cos he was out signing autographs. I remember asking him if he got annoyed by the attention and he said no, it was part of being in the public spotlight, and therefore if anyone, esp kids came up to him he was more than happy to give them autographs.

That is horrible.
I know people who have met a few of the shorty stars and most of them say the one they have met has been rude and an arse. SS must have an effect on their ego, once they enter the set they feel they are too important for autographs, even though it is those people who ask for authographs that support the show and get it good ratings.

On the weekend my sister took her kids to the santa parade and afterwards in the sky city car park they saw the guy who plays TK on shortie st... My niece who is 9 said she wanted his autograph and was really excited about seeing him so my sister tipped out her handbag to find a pen and paper and off went my niece while my sis refilled the junk into her bag.
Anyway niece comes back and said she asked if she could have his autograph and he said he was really busy and didnt have time!!! WTF
My sister said she couldnt see him by that time but knew he wasnt going anywhere in a hurry cause the traffic was gridlocked anyway.

Both my niece and my sister were very disappointed and frankly so am i...i know it never takes me very long to sign my name... and she was being ever so brave to approach him all by herself too.
