Oz offered to ring NZ   but the guy I spoke to from LTNZ was rude and told me it was not his job to talk to OZ 

Now with all this muckin around the expiry date has passed so now it makes it even harder to fight... i had 12 months after expiry date to convert and did it soon after it expired but with all this back and forward business I got nowhere and now the dates are expired.

Have an Aunty in Oz.. cant really afford to get over there at this stge and with expiry date over Oz would even have to decline it which is understandable but I blame NZ for that

Yup its a VERY lengthy process.. you sit your learners, cant drive without a fully licenced driver.. then you wait 6 months and sit your restricted.. can drive between certain hours and dependants are ok, then its 18 months untill you can get your full. If you do defensive driving course it cuts the times in half..
$400 fine if you breech your licence.. trust me im an expert at that lol..

OMG!!! How annoying!!
I am australian too and just renewed my full oz licence using my mums addy as my "home" address..
Is there a family member you can pinch their addy from... admittedly it was a trip to oz to get a new happy snap taken, but I got to catch up wth rellies for the weekend so it was cool.

That sux!!!!!! My God, they obviously can't see simple reason (too blinded by the bloody rules, I suppose!) LTNZ is so unfair...

I have to start my drivers license process from scratch meaning doing restricted etc again.

Got my original Oz license stolen  here in NZ and to get license converted to NZ you need original oz lic but since I did not have that I was allowed to apply for an exemption and supply records from Australia with proof of license being held. (full license in which I held for  5 years+, id, a photocopy of oz license but they will not accept this.... without the letter.

They want a letter from Oz stating why they cant issue me with an original oz lic cos Im no longer a resident of OZ (Obviously I dont live there so cant get one) and it says in emails taht Oz sent LTNZ and Myself but still wont accept that as the letter cos no letterhead..

They have every bit of proof I held my full license, they have photocopy and original documents from OZ with Lic number, personal details etc and emails but no I have to start again.. This sux.. Im so angry...

MP Bob Clarkson believed this was silly and unfair and tried to help sort this out and wrote to Transport Minister whom passed it onto the LTNZ anyway (whom we had already delt with) and now declined...

So unfair.. People that drink drive etc have a better time in getting their license back than what I have to do cos some idiots stole my license....

Have written to FAIR GO!!! Hopefully will hear from them soon...

I am going to start again becuse having a son and no car is so hard... but Im fighting this because of the principal of it all.
