Thanks guys My placenta is Anterior High, so according to my research all should be ok. I've not been told I need another scan - but will call my GP and ask her opinion after Christmas. i think jake's placenta was anterior too. He was posterior at birth, but his actual birth was quick and (relatively) easy. I am due in a few days and have an Anterior Placenta. It hasn't made any difference to my pregnancy (dont know about the birth yet). The only thing was it was hard to find heart beat first few times and I didn't feel his movements for a while (but now I feel it all the time). My baby is apparently sitting in a good position for birth (and I hope he stays that way)so that has not been affected. oooh actually i forgot to mention that... i was told the same - that baby's tend to try not to lie on the placenta... very brainy wee things.. but just do all the normal positioning stuff and you should be ok... Ayja took forever to turn and was transverse up till past 30-something weeks... i was a bit worried

thats one thing I learnt during my pregnancy... you must be happy with your midwife.. Its only little things to do with how you sit, basically you just want to have your pelvis tilted foward. Hi there, I have an anterior placenta, and my midwife said its reasonably common but it can mean a higher chance of a posterior baby because babies tend to face it. My midwife has given me strict instructions on my posture, seating position, time spent on hands & knees, etc to encourage baby to stay anterior. She said its more important closer to the end of pregnancy but she said its easier if I get into the habit now. My son was posterior presenting & I ended up with a c-section so I want to avoid that this time. I had a low lying anterior placenta with Jayden, it caused alot of bleeding however it then righted itself later on in pregnancy, not sure how that part works. Anyhow he is now a very happy noisy four year old. Hey i think i started a post about this when i was preg with Ayja as i had one too and was quite worried about it. but as Ana said all it meant was it took longer to feel bub move. I had an anterior placenta and there were no probs at all. It just made it harder to feel Joey at first (later on I felt him all the time!!) and sometimes it just took longer to find the heartbeat at check ups.
