Can I add some more random things that came through to me when I wokre on the support desk at 018

"Can you give me the phone number for someone if I give you their name and Date of Birth?" Yeah like I can do that.

"I need the number for the guy down the road but all I know is that his name is Shorty, coz he is short" No I actually need his surname.

From an Australian operator "Hi New Zealand, i'm hoping you can help. We know the guys last name is Smith and they live somewhere in Auckland not quite sure which suburb sorry" Smith is a very common name I would need a suburb. "But Auckland isn't that big is it"

"Can I have the number to 111 please" - I transferred that call

LOL funny story but on the sad side - that kids probably has behaviour problems because of his family life if what the lady is saying is true. Wetting his pants constantly could be a sign of a troubled child. ROFLMAO!!!! Sorry but that is sooo funny and reminds of the weird and sometimes shocking things parents and child alike can come out with. I really feel for the woman as she must be so lonely and not have anyone around to talk to and that poor  child sounds like a real "wild child".... Hmmmm maybe related to tarzan lol

Holy cow that is a really weird work story!!!  Where were you when I was swapping very very boring work stories with friends last night?!  At least yours would have kept us entertained! 

...I thought it was weird that I didn't recognise you there - I'm so sorry about that!  It was one of those 'I know I know you but how' moments and oh I am so bad for them.  Full credit to you for recognising us eh!  Now I won't feel so bad when Ella tantys at the checkout there anymore - not after reading that story - that's awesome!!

Work has been supe weird recently. We have a child and his mum who come in....lets call them weird mum (WM) and evil child (EC). EC is 2.

first time: EC is in trolley, WM is trying to get him to shut up. "no EC, mummy is here, no need to yell" - ad naseum. EC is just screaming for no reason at all. WM now decides to ignore him and as I scan each item, tells me EXACTLY and in detail, what she plans to do with each and every item. she has a trolley load of stuff. this goes on and on. As she pays she then tells me she suspects her husbnad is cheacting on her, and asks ME if she should leave him...I say "well, only you can make this decision". She seems happy with this but as I serve my other customer asks me how she should deal with her step-children. Eventualy she leaves after EC pees in the trolley.

Day two; in awapuni market. EC is out of his pushchair and running down the road systematically pushing fruit and veges to the ground. WM is following after saying "no darling, don't do that" EC ignores her.

Day three: EC is out of trolley and runs up stairs to the offices. After paying for her groceries WM stands at the bottom of the stairs and says "EC,come down to mummy" for ten minutes. Someone else tells her she can go and get him, she says he will come down when ready. He continues to stay there for another THIRTY MINUTES!!!!! and she continues to "ask" him to come down.

Day four: WM is putting up about 10 hollow santas and packs of lollies. EC is out of the trolley and has run around and smashed all these things, so WM is now paying. Still having problems with husband, Talks about sex life. I shudder

Day five (yesterday). i have never heard such language from a 2 year old. EC yells at checkout girl "YOU BIG FAT SLUT< YOU BITCH" etc. Checkout girl tells mum she should tell him off. WM says that she can;t control him and that it is her husband fault.   She then asks supervisor if she should leave him. he beats her apparently. She stands asking randomd people for advice. EC pees in trolley.



I don't believe in smacking kids, but this child would have the most patient person in the world itching to.
