I heard from the LLL that boobs are never fully empty.

As NZpiper said - once your have been BF for a while and it is established they will always feel soft.

Swapping boobs can help a grizzly baby as they can get a second letdown of thirst quenching foremilk rather than having to work hard for the hindmilk. sometimes also a change of position helps too! and of course there is always the fav boob.

one boob might be easier to drink from than the other hence the frustration. Also if you do have a blocked duct maybe the milk tastes funny. I find too that at the end of the day the let down takes longer to come in.

Hmmm that's interesting about the recharge time. I've got one sore boob today (maybe blocked duct) so tried to feed Anyssa from that side for a 2nd feed 2 hours after the first - she was grizzling and complaining, so I put her on the other boob and she was fine. I don't know about that... I've been exclusively expressing with an electric pump for 2.5 months now. And although the amount has dropped a little from what it first was (stupid midwife advice I blame) I am still able to give Joy breast milk for the most part of each day. I dont think you ever totally empty your boobs. I think theycan always find a bit more.
