God it took me nearly 45 minutes to convince him to get out the door! he was like "it's not that bad!" as he was sitting there all shaky and white. i had the kids in the car and we were waiting for him. He's going "they won't stitch it" "it's not that deep" blah blah. I'm going "yep, they will, you can see the layers of tissue under it, it's bleeding, and since the pole's been in the ground they'll give you a tetanus shot too" he didn't beleive me. I think that's why it took so long to get him out the door. lol, he wasn't going to say anything about the shot but i did, lol. i'm a meany - that's what you get from being a nurseys other half. lol

Twas the day before the night before christmas
And all through the yard
Was the sound of a hammer
Banging pegs way too hard

Our old swing set it seems
Was not in the right place
Too close to the corner
We needed more space

It had been in the ground
for nearly a year
But now santa’s gift of a trampoline
Soon would be there

So the swing set was moved
And the pegs taken out
And then banging them in
I heard Michael shout

Having just had a shower
I came running half dressed
And lifted his hand off his eye
To find a yucky red mess

The peg that had been
In the ground wasn’t now
It had jumped up and taken
A chunk off his eyebrow

So off to the doctors
I dragged Mr Wuss
Have never seen a grown man
Create such a fuss

Apparently 5 yrs of training
Means squat
I said he’d need stitches
He said he WOULD NOT

We got there, and went in
The doctor came by
And said
“I think you’ll need stitches in that eye”

So we sat and we watched
as they stitched up his brow
He thought they were finished,
But I was a cow….

I asked the nurse
about a tetanus shot too
She said since it’s been 15 yrs,
that, we must do

So they lifted his sleeve
And gave him a jab
And after all this
the poor guy was so sad

So now we’re back home,
With our staunch manly dad
And I laugh at the crappy few days
we’ve just had

I went outside before
And not surprised I have found
Him back with the hammer
Banging pegs in the ground.

If he damages himself
just moving a swing
i wonder what injuries
the trampoline will bring?
