That sounds really nice Kelly. I've also bumped into some mothers who have a group in our area, so maybe we can tag along to both in the meantime

Yep I'm STILL here!

Mw checked me and I was 3cm dilated at 12:30pm. She gave me a stretch and contractions have definitely stepped up a notch since. Now about 3mins apart and lasting for up to 1min. Just sent DH to bed for a nap as he had very little sleep last night. Believe it or not I managed to get some shuteye earlier - it's nothing short of a miracle that I feel like I managed to slept deeply amidst contractions! Will let them intensify a lil bit more then wake him up and get ahold of mw again...

Just had first visit with the Plunket Nurse. Thanks! Been in touch with midwife, things are still happening so she'll come to me at around 11 unless I need her earlier. Welcome back Amelia - was just thinking and wondering when you'd get back from hospital and have the time to start posting Hope you've recovered (or at least are recovering quickly) from your full-on labour and birth?

I'm really hoping this is it... have had really strong period-like pains irregularly since about 2am yesterday morning. Finally started timing them at 4:30pm in the afternoon and they were 7-8mins apart lasting for about 50-60secs. Been to bed but can't sleep, they're now about 6-7mins apart lasting for 40-50secs. I'm back from seeing my mw now. She's happy with me - predicts that bubs will be close to 7 pounds which is nice to know. Didn't do anything today but has booked a S&S for me on Monday morning if things still haven't started by then. From there I'll have another appointment on the Wed and a scan on the Thurs then start talking inductions on the Fri. I REALLY don't plan to hang on till then!!! It's her weekend off this weekend so I'm hoping bubs decides to arrive before then. Her back up is lovely, but it's just not quite the same as having your own mw with you.

DH has been to every mw appointment with me so far - usually they've been 4pm appointments so he's finished work at about 3pm so he can drive home in time. The last two weeks they've been 2pm appointments, and even though I didn't expect him to be able to make it, he did Nice having the rest of the afternoon with him afterwards! We went for a walk right around One Tree Hill on our way home today - hopefully the good 45mins of exercise will help bubs get a move on

The pains have been slightly different today so I'm feeling a little more optimistic about this little one arriving before too long... I hope. Been SO achy lately, really crampy period-like pains, but they just seem to last for a few hours at a time then go away for a few hours before they come back. Nothing that makes me think this little one is any closer to arriving...

Went out to see Wall.E with my mum and lil bro and sis today. Very clever - I know my DH would love it    Just been out to get a stack of $1 dvds so I have something to do if I have to keep waiting. Seeing mw tomorrow afternoon and I am SO hoping that she might do something to hurry things along, though based on what she said last week I don't know whether she will or not.

So my baby is still apparently 1 day old according to the website. Guess it won't be a Sept arrival after all... I can't help but keep hoping that at least I might go into labour before midnight tonight - would be a bearable compromise!!

How well I remember the frustration of OhBaby telling my baby had been born - I kept thinking that I was sure I'd remember that! Wait till tomorrow and it tells you that your baby is 1 day old! Hang on, hopefully you won't see that.

Congratulations to Amelia, Linelle and Leanne on the birth of your little bubs. Amelia - hope you're on the mend. Leanne, looking forward to hearing how it all went for you in the end - 9lb 6oz.....WOW!

Before I head over to the other Sept Mums thread I thought I'd share our birth story with you all.

Had my sweep when the mw had basically said it should all kick off soon and she thought it would start about 6 hours after the sweep....but 4pm came and went and no signs of labour. Woke for usual 1am toilet stop and soon realised the BH's I was feeling were actually painful. I decided to get up and see if being upright would keep it all going this time. So I paced the living room floor from 1.30am. Dh appeared at 5.30 to see what I was doing but I was still coping although starting to find each contraction quite painful, so sent him back to bed. About 6 I suggested dh might like to get up and have breakfast while I had a shower as things were getting more intense. Kids got up too so dh fed them. About 6.30 I rang my sister and got her to come over to organise the kids for school and rang the mw to say things were happening but no panic. By 7 I was ringing the mw and saying that we needed to head to the hospital - at which time I asked for the bath to be filled so it was ready when I got there . Arrived at hospital at 7.35 (man, those contractions stuck in the car killed!!). Got in the bath at about 7.40 - contractions slowed but did not lose their intensity. 2nd contraction at 7.50 and my waters went. Next contraction mw asked if I was feeling like pushing - surprised to hear myself admit I was. Next contraction I was fighting urge to push.......longish gap then next contraction mw telling me to go with it. I remember shouting that he was coming (always convinced he was a boy), felt him crowning, head out, thought bother if I'm going through another contraction and pushed his body out all within the one contraction!! So at 8.14 - 40 mins after arriving on the hospital grounds my beautiful wee boy was born. I remember just staring at him in shock - and telling everyone really loudly that he was alot smaller than the other two had been (he was a pound lighter than Gemma and half a pound lighter than Cameron!). He seems so tiny.

We got home yesterday. Feeding is going ok - yesterday he just wanted to feed all the time (ouch). Today he is jaundiced and I'm having to wake him for feeds. Didn't see mw today as mine is away and her backup got caught at a long labour. Will see mw tomorrow - hopefully she'll weigh him cos I'm worried that he's not feeding enough and is getting quite yellow. I'm pretty sure my milk is coming in judging from the weepy feelings and tingly boobs - lol.

Wow, that was long.....but nice to have it written down. Hope everyone else is doing ok. Kristy - you can have all my labour vibes - fingers crossed for a Sept babe for you hon.

Hi everyone!!
So finally at 3.5 weeks I am able to get on here and say hello! It has been a very big rollercoaster ride, but we have got through it and are now hopefully on the downhill slope :)
So our little mans name is Austin James Edwin Smith, and he is lovely :) I am going to try and figure out how to post a pic now....................

I cant believe how many bubbies we have now!! I'm playing the waiting game... am trying to get myself used to the idea that he or she may well be an Oct baby at this rate. Still really hoping that it won't be long now and this little one will be a Sept baby like I set my heart on! I keep picturing the photo you posted of Jackson curled up beside the TV remote and telling myself that soon it should be my turn to hold my wee bundle

Have been having minor niggles on and off for the last 3 days (which is more than I can say for any time before that!) but nothing has turned into anything yet. Asked mw what the story is post-40wks, and unless there is anything concerning her, I'll be sent for a scan at 41 and a bit weeks, then see how I go from there. So it could be a long wait if bubs doesn't get a move on! Went out yesterday and bought some raspberry leaf tea and a herbal supplement my mw recommended called 5W, so hopefully that may help.

Will keep you posted if anything happens... but at this stage bubs def seems very happy snuggled up where he or she is! Thats good news re Charli-Rose but not so good that Amelia isn't so good, what does PPH stand for?

Charli-rose born at 2.58am this morning after 2 days of induction. 55cm long, 8lbs 11oz! Baby is beautiful but mum had big PPH so not doing so good
