yeah that's what I have been doing- mainly because I can't seem to be able to express huge amounts out at one time, so have been doing a small amount everyday. Just thought it would be easier to give the caregiver already in the bottle.

Just a thought (you may have already thought of this, sorry!)- How about you store whatever you express in small amounts, so that whatever your baby doesn't take you can freeze and store? So you can give a bit at a time and see how much you need?

Yeah I am sure I will be fine at work after a couple of weeks...just the idea of having to be super organised in the morning and then leaving Ella for the whole day. At least it is 2 days a weeks and next week will only be 2 half days.

Gina used to drink between 180-220ml at that stage.
I'd say try and leave more rather then less and then, once you see how much is left over, you can fine tune it.

thanks- might put a little bit more than 200ml in a cup for her to start off with and see how much she drinks. For the moment am going to try with just expressed milk and not introduce formula. Have started expressing this week, so I have some back up milk in the freezer.....

average 6mos formula is 200ml per feed but sometimes bubbies have more mls of bm because it is easier to drink/digest. Probably best to aim for 200ml to start. My m/w told me to follow the back of a can of formula with how much expressed milk to give as I was asking the same question re how much to defrost!

Maybe someone on here has a can of forumla that they can type out the average feed requirements for the age of your bubs??

does anyone know how much expressed milk a 6-7 month would normally drink in one feed? just trying to work how much milk to express for Ella next week, when I go back to work part-time.

I'm thinking 200ml per feed? but really have no idea and can't be bothered giving her a full feed now from a cup to find out...
