Soooo jelous - dont have palmers down here & I see their adverts in the best buys catalouge & I want to go but sadly (but prob better) cant go

I had a look at the Palmers website and it has so much info about planting. When the boys go to sleep I am going to have a good look through it.

Celery I *think* I tried it last year and it went to seed - can always try it again.

Bugger I am going to be out of the country on the shortest day - hopefully I can plant it earlier.

garlic is very much like the onion family, when you get a clove from the supermarket, split it up into single bulbs.  When you plant it, just cover the top so its not too deep. 'normally' you would plant them on the shortest day of the year (ie 21/22 june) & they are sposed to be ready longest day of the year.  They are great for planting with tomatoes - help keep white fly away

you can also get garlic chives which are great in salads, egg sandwiches etc, we may have some going to seed, if it does will send you some. 

you could also try celery

You can plant the garlic cloves you get from the supermarket. I will have to get that magazine next month definatly. I'm getting a raspberry cutting after this season. Might try garlic that could be fun.

Mmmm berries. Get the NZ Gardner special magazine thats out now called 'Homegrown'.
